Are there people actually defending this guy? Seriously? Stop with the excuses. There were plenty of other schools with equally young secondaries. Our secondary barely contested a pass, much less got any interceptions. They took horrible angles. They did check tackling instead of wrapping up. They barely ever jammed the receiver at the line and disrupted routes...

Some of that is Grantham's shitty and confusing scheme..but there were a lot of bad fundamentals out there. Let's get some fresh blood in here, preferably a proven resource, and teach these kids to quit playing hockey with their retarded body checks and start playing football.

To be fair, if your DB's can't keep up step for step with the other teams best recievers there is not alot you can do about it. Wiggins, Swann, and Langley all had issues at times playing 1 on 1 and getting out ran or flat out burned. Coaching is not going to fix this however hopefully the recruits and the red shirts we have coming in can make it a real competition and the best kids play.

No, we're saying you can't judge him by one year. He had an awful year this year though.

This has been an issue for the last 5 years or so. Remember Rashaad Jones?

I think Grantham has already come out and said that he has a few calls in to NFL guys. Shattle Fenteng has said the same thing, apparently he wants to bring someone in to actually coach the talent UP to the NFL level. That'd be a first LOL

I disagree. Coaching can fix bad fundamentals. However, you can't take an entire secondary full of freshmen and expect them to hold their own. DB is one of the hardest positions on the field to play if not the hardest. Now granted they still looked as green at the end of the season as they did at the beginning. A new coach may be a good thing, but I don't think it will fix as much as some hope.

Reshad Jones was a monster. He had one bad tackle in the Tech game and people think of that as his whole career. He was the best tackler on the team.

Bryan Evans was awful on that squad...

At work and don't have time to search for a link, but he said it's being reported by one of the California papers that covers the Trojans.

Wow...reading some stuff elsewhere...

quote:

Terrell Williams DL coach of the Oakland Raiders was contacted by CTG about the position 4 - 6 weeks ago

quote:

About what position?

quote:

DL coach - he was at Texas A&M for a couple of years. At the time he thought the Raiders staff would be retained - don't know if CTG moved on to someone else. I may know more next week after the Indy coaches convention

quote:

dallasga6...
confused...dl coach where?? Funny cause I saw an anonymous post elsewhere that said Chris Wilson had interviewed at S Cal....

McDawg from the old ABH & Scout also said this a.m. that "one more change in the form of a defensive coach being 'reassigned' is highly possible."....Dunno...

quote:

Heard that would be Coach O reassigned to a non coaching position.

quote:

Could this be another announcement that is waiting for confirmation of the replacement?
