I am also in nashville. That was a lot cooler than I thought it would be. It was purpley around the corona and the light shimmered off the ground before it went totally dark. The crickets were chirping like it was the dead of night.

So I'm guessing no videos yet. Only an eight of the Sun is covered here. I'd look up expecting the eclipse to happen later on and got blinded by the sun.

It's a dull greyish light out, which I hope changes cause I'm a bit concerned about my eyesight, P.S. frick the sun.

We had perfect skies and 2:30 or so of totality. I don't know what I was expecting but that corona was absolutely amazing.

Pictures don't do it justice. Crazy.

That is the best part. Looks like something supernatural. Between that and the sudden darkening of the sky it looked like Jesus was about to come back.

I looked at the eclipse and I'm not blind yet. Will check back in later.

The headline of the Athens newspaper tomorrow should read, "SUN WEARS BLACK IN ATHENS TO SHOW IT'S A BIG GEORGIA BULLDOG FAN!"

Was too lazy to drive 2 hours to see it. My son in Augusta drove over in SC and watched. He said it was one of the greatest sights he's ever seen. Made me wish I had made the drive.

There was definitely a world of difference between 99% and totality. We're glad we made the drive. It was absolutely an amazing experience.

Very true. Went out and tried to get a few pics (without looking up) and all I got was what looked like the normal sun. It had gotten darker and had that green haze, crickets were chirping, street light came on, but otherwise, you couldn't tell anything was going on if you didn't have eclipse glasses (and that view is pretty underwhelming).

Friend of mine went out to Priest Hole, Oregon and got some amazing shots of the 100% eclipse. Was beautiful. Saw a video someone did with a filter over their camera until it went dark. Took the filter off, and you could see the black ball with the ring of light clear as a bell. Awesome sight.

Get ready....2024 is the next one and it will be passing the opposite direction, ending up in New York. Bet that will produce some neat pics. In 2045, we'll get over 6 minutes of totality from northern Cali all the way to Florida.
