Ganus was the only thing on the field like I remember Bulldog football to be. To be fair the defense kept UF in check most of the game, but damn...just damn..

Yes...and a Valdosta boy. Too bad that other Valdosta boy looked like diarrhea running down a dogs arse, today.

Yeah Rome had a rough day for sure...Not sure why we didnt see Blazevich running some of those targeted TE routes.

yes Mitchell..that's it..no more Sean Jones, Thomas Davis, Knox Culpepper, Champ and Boss Bailey..or Greg Blue, Richard Seymore..I could mention David Pollack and others, but most of those were brought in by Donnan or Van Gorder..

now we're fricking Furman..

Humper, you believe there is anything to the rumor of Richt leaving? You, CHD, Wes and I took a lot of abuse when he was hired, believing Georgia could do better.

Always good to read your stuff.

Leghumper, with all due respect, what are you remembering as 'Georgia Football'? 1980-1983? What you're seeing the last few years is basically what UGA football has been forever. Mostly decent to good years, the occasional bad year, the occasional championship year.

I just flinched at remembering him whiff a couple of WVU players in 2005.

Sean Jones is one of the most underrated UGA players of all time imo.

The Erk years...those defenses were nasty, and we had a taste of that again under Van Gorder.

Good to see you, man...

Richt gets a pass unless he loses to Tech. That's my thought, anyway. We can justify anything 'round here.

Erk had plenty of so-so defenses for teams that finished with so-so records. not to mention back in those days the forward pass was something of a novelty.

but what is 'georgia football?' is it erk's nasty 66,68,75,76,80 defenses? or is it the utter mediocrity on defense (with due exception for Van Gorder, indeed) that has existed ever since?

i mean vandy and tulane used to be powerhouses do their fans still long for the 'vandy' or 'tulane' of old?

I think he's referring to sound, fundamental football on both sides of the ball and special teams.

The defense was great. It sucks that it always looks like they weren't

Floida had 400 yds offese. That's not great defense.

The defense was DEFINITELY not worth complaining about. Outside of that one TD pass, they came to play.

Too bad our O keeping them on the field gives another impression.

120 came on two plays...I bet they had about double the amount of plays as we did. Same thing happened to us vs UTk...offense kept getting possesions and the defense finally broke down considerably in the 4th Q

of course he is. in those few VERY SUCCESSFUL years since 1964, most of them under Dooley, uga has demonstrated this.

but in all the other years (a few dooley, most goff, most donnan, most richt) uga football did NOT have those qualities.

so i'm saying what we remember as 'georgia football' is a FEW fleeting years (mostly Dooley who only had to play 6 sec games) mixed in with a lot of years of mediocrity ever since. so which is the 'real georgia football'? one could argue that it is the current state of softness and failure to rise to the moment. just like the real vandy is the current state and NOT the glory years of the 1920s
