Herman does have Texas and West Coast... You keep the rest of the coaches, it will all work itself out Tyler.

As far as I know, Herman has no connection the South or to the state of GA as far as recruiting goes. Would mean a total rebuild which we don't have to do. Go with Kirby or go with Jimbo. Not much else makes sense.
Herman's recruiting area at OSU was the state of Ga....

While with the Buckeyes, one of Herman’s primary recruiting territories was the Atlanta metro-area, which could help him if he were to be hired by Georgia.

Hell, I know Herman will connect instantly with Rodrigo... He'll be the best kicker in the nation.

The SEC is a completely different world since '01.Meyer and especially Saban changed it forever. It's all about the amount of money you're willing to spend on facilities and staff. We can't afford to have coordinator
learn how to be a HC at our expense.
There's a reason they're not hiring coordinators as SEC HC's anymore especially after the Muschamp experiment.

I had never heard this but it is very believable,
I heard it from a dude in the local Buffalo's years ago, who claimed to be his high school best friend.
Take that for what it's worth.

This is not a pro-KS for UGA HC post, but I will never understand the "burned his bridges" crowd. He made a business decision for him and his family that any one of us would have made given the same situation.
Option A: Take more money to stay where you are already successful, already have your recruits in place, in a situation where you are competing for not just SEC championships but National Championships.
Option B: Take more money to go be the DC at a new place , need time to recruit your guys, and do it at a place that had not seen even an SEC East title in 4 years (at the time). All the while being an assistant who is expendable should things go backwards for the HC.
Every one of us would chose option A because option B isn't as good of a business decision (Everyone has to remember that this is not just a game, we are talking about people's professional careers). Not only does it barely constitute a lateral move, but it would have thrown him into a situation that was far more risky for things going south and being the scapegoat.

Kirby is the man.

Kirby was the running backs coach at Georgia under Mark Richt in 2005.
eta - I always heard the same about them not getting along.
