Dasher already said it won't be Wilson, and I have to imagine it won't be KO either.

Granted, since this is UGA neither would surprise me, but since next year is basically a "you better win and you better fricking win big or else" year for the coaching staff, I have to think that we aren't going to settle with someone already on staff.

Starting to get that vibe. I feel like the boosters had a sunday come to jesus meeting with the bean counters in the AD

I highly doubt this considering we've come off of worse years before and nothing has happened.

RUMOR: Kentucky DB coach Derrick Ansley headed to UGA. He was a grad assistant for Kirby Smart at Bama, adding fuel to the Smart speculation

I wouldn't expect Wilson back if he's been interviewing.

It's not so much that they think the program needs to be turned around, but the team returns a ton of pieces and should be poised to have a very good season.

Define "nothing has happened". I've said it before that I know for a FACT that after 2010 McGarity told Richt if he didn't win at least 9 games he was going to be fired. We won 10 games and the SEC east, so "nothing happened". But just because you didn't see anything publicly doesn't mean there wasn't shite going on behind the scenes.

I hear that. Your original post made it sound like they have to win a Natty or everyone is fired.

Oh my bad. I mean I don't know of anything specific, but just the tone I get from the program after the bowl games makes me think that. We are stale as frick as a program right now, just utterly stagnant, while our rivals are flourishing. I just feel strongly that Mcgarity has put the fear back into the coaches and has more or less let them know that it's time to win or we're gonna look at some unpleasant (in the coaches eyes) options. JMO.

No problem. However, if Ears is tired of seeing others flourish then he needs to open his pocketbook up and start entering the arms race.

You can argue we already entered it by paying grantham 850K a year. In 2010 I believe we made him a top 3 highest paid DC in the country, which is astounding considering he had never been a college DC before. We also paid Fox quite handsomely, considering his resume and background.

We've shown we'll throw down money if it's warranted. My only concern is, if someone like Kirby comes here and it takes us paying him 1.5 or 2 million, what does that do regarding Bobo's contract? Seems like he wouldn't just wanna sit idly by when he's actually been getting results for us, and has been a loyal employee for going on 14 years now.

Yea, methinks he'll get a minimum raise up to 750-800k

I'm talking more about support staff, S&C, and facilities. We have one person on the recruiting staff while Bama had 5-10. We have 3-5 on the S&C while Bama has 10-20 plus Cochran is considered the best and our guys, who I respect, has a PE degree.
