KM is or was very good in space, but he's too easy to tackle. Chubb?...is a monster.

Before he got hurt his games vs USCe and LSU impressed me. It was like he was starting to show more than speed. He had gained some weight and while I wouldn't say he bowling people over he was certainly showing more power.

I am not coming close to saying the guy is starting over Chubb. That comment was stupid. Personally I am still Chubb then Michel. But I think Marshall is getting unfairly dinged in this thread by yall.

Somebofy just texted me saying Marshall looked really really good. Like Chubb is second string good. Said that's what the players are saying. I don't believe it for a second. But..... Anyone got any info?

there was a practice report that stated that Marshall got a lot of 1st team reps, maybe even more than Chubb. It's also the first day of practice, he's coming back from injury, and the coaches likely wanted to test him to see how he's recovered because they know what Chubb can do.

Marshall is a very good athlete and a very good running back but Chubb is elite. We need Marhsall and Michel and even Turman to step up and stay healthy because I don't really want to see Chubb run 30+ times a game all season if we can avoid it; we'll run him into the ground if we do that. 18-20 touches would be ideal with the next guy getting 10-12 and then the next two getting 4-7 a piece on a good day.

What are the odds KM graduates with eligibility & transfers to play with his brother? I've heard rumors

Same odds GT has beating UGA two years in a row.

None.

Also Marshall is kind of the veteran if he was getting more reps or going first it's because they wanted him to set the tone for the younger guys. Chubb and michel haven't gone through spring workouts yet. I hope Keith Marshall has a great season and gets back in the groove. We need him and AJ both to contribute given our recent battles with injuries to RBs

Y'all are really selling Keith short. I realize that most people will remember what's recent, which for him would be a lackluster '14 before being sidelined, and missing the second half of '13. Keith is far more than being "just fast". Yes that's his biggest attribute, but he's much more than just a chris rainey type that can only run really fast in a straight line.

For starters, he's proven to be an asset out of the backfield. Remember this catch against nebraska? LINK I don't know how many RBs we have that could do that...adjust when the play breaks down then reach across the body while tightroping the sideline.

In this gif, he runs straight into the teeth of the defense, makes a shifty move, and is gone.

This one doesn't look very fancy, but he eludes a tackler behind the LOS, follows a block and cuts back and is gone

And here we see him fake someone so bad the guy is still probably embarrassed

Nobody is going to confuse KM's style for gurley/chubb/turman. He's not a bruiser, but he doesn't need to be. When Keith is 100% he is an excellent running back, and it's kind of confusing that people are knocking him. No he's not as good as gurley and chubb, but based on what we actually KNOW I damn sure wouldn't say he's behind turman.

Until you see otherwise? What have you seen out of Turman?

The fact that some UGA fans have deluded themselves into thinking Keith Marshall sucks really speaks to the quality of RBs at UGA the past few years. It's still a retarded sentiment, but the reason that that retarded sentiment exists is a good one for UGA.

This is what the cultural anthropolgists call "stupid good." For a prime example, see Alabama fans: the football is so good that their fans are dumber than they would normally be.

Just saying, it'd be by far the best thing for Georgia if Parker were to win the starting job.

I don't think Keith Marshall sucks, I think he is an excellent change of pace back when fully healthy. That being said, he isn't going to break many tackles. He has to be in space to be effective. Hes just going to piss everyone off every single time the play goes between the tackles unless the OL literally shoves the entire front 7 back 5 yards.

Disagree with this part. He does need a seam though. Some of his best runs as a freshman were right up the gut. He doesn't really create his own crease, but when one is there he hits it about as fast as possible and it's usually 6.

I would say that he's a boom or bust runner, but he's definitely a weapon.
