shite...forgot about him.

How about our 3 headed monster in '85? James Jackson, Wayne Johnson & David Dukes...

The 3 combined for ...74 of 168...43%...1005yds...3TD's... 9Int's...

We had 3 passing TD's in '85 vs 32 rushing TD's...

Does the fact that our QB play from 1978 til 1991 was poor statistically tell you that all the QBs sucked or that there was possibly another reason?

I'm not sure what your angle is Peter.

For starters, all of them (besides the last one) played for the same coach..a coach that valued running the ball and defense a lot more than passing it downfield.

Next HC we had was a former SEC POY at QB, and not suprisingly we had better QB play.

Enter Donnan who came from pass happy Marshall, and you have even better QB play.

Enter Richt and it goes up several more notches. Not really a coincidence, just following the standard progression.

Help me see your point please because I think I've missed it.

Preston Jones was pretty shitty... He split time with Greg Talley who was shitty too in '89 & '90 before EZ got the nod in '91...

Jones...87 for 185... 47.0%... 1066yds... 6TD's... 13int's...
This is who I was coming to post.

He went to my high school and was good in HS but a career backup at UGA that rarely saw the field.

Could you imagine a Georgia quarterback putting up these stats today? Bratkowski was considered one of the better passers in college football at the time.

a lot of the players named as bad QBs played under the same HC and OC. it may be that we had short lineman who were good at run blocking and that we had two down field pass plays... Xray and zebra and everyone knew them...
