That's a good question. To me, it means their coaches are coaching up what and who they have and making it work. They are not world beaters, but they are putting a team together that can execute the plays they call.

I bet they actually have some players at OL, WR, etc., that actually belong in the SEC

Deebo Samuel and Bryan Edwards are both better than any outside receiver we have, and their OL is at least bigger than ours.

Who would have thought that Messchump would get his first signature SEC win before Smart?

Alabama's OL averages 6LBS heavier than ours. Does 6 LBS make that much difference? Maybe the true culprit is our training table.

Debo might be 6' tall and he was a 3 star.

Edwards was signed by the first year coach. UGA signed one WR ranked higher and one ranked the same as him.

They are still better. Recruiting services get it wrong sometimes.

They certainly appear to be better. USC must just be lucky in that regards.

UT was not as focused and had much less to play for

Not focused yes, but less to play for??? They are in a 2 team race (well, I guess 3 if you count Kentucky) for the SEC East title. If anything USCe had nothing to play for, much like UGA against UF on Saturday.

Not gonna lie, their 17 year old freshman is better than ours. That guy is going to be a force the next 3 years.

Hopefully, the rest of their team sucks.

And we went to columbia and beat that same team relatively easily.

Easy? if not for a fluke onside kick return all the way for a TD it would have been a 1 possession game.
Statistics really close. the only thing we had a good clear advantage over them was TOP.

They do, but how do you know they got it wrong and it isn't coaching?

It's easy to say a kid has more talent because of statistics, but there are several RB's with more statistics than Fournette and Chubb. Eye test? There are way too many factors when it comes to determining if one kid is better than another. We might have an opinion, but who would have thought Tom Brady would have turned out so well?

They are just clearly better overall athletes. I suppose that's just the eye test.

I think Ridley will be a good player, but he's not as explosive as either of them and not as big as Edwards.

ETA: Samuel was rated 92 (4*) and Edwards 94 (also 4*) by 247. It's not like they came out of nowhere

I am very excited about Ridley. Looks to have very good hands. I think he might be considered our best receiver by the end of next season.

Why? South Carolina is getting lower ranked players and they are all panning out, while all of ours are apparently missing. I would be willing to bet that our OL, WR, DB, LB and DL (As a unit) were all ranked higher than USC's. What else could it be?

(I think that is the point he is making)

That's probably why we beat them

Actually, it's probably why we should have beaten them by 21+ points, instead of having to return and onside kick all the way back to win by 14.
