Deal has declared a State of Emergency effective now. It includes 14 counties at this point.

In north Alabama it's 34 and rain mixed with sleet. It is supposed to go to 38 then start dropping to 27 tonight. 100% chance of snow tonight. Snow and sleet tomorrow.

I think tomorrow during the day will be mostly okay around metro atlanta because it seems as though the temperatures may bottom out during the day at 35 or 36 degrees. Tuesday night and Wednesday are going to be rough though..likely going to be widespread power outages around metro atlanta due to the ice.

Just heard this is to aid the schools just as much as well. if they declare a state of emergency, they dont have to make up the days. however its up to each county to decide
