Yes both died during Robert's rebellion before the show started.
Basically Lyanna Stark was promised to Robert Baratheon who loved her. Rheagar took her from him and basically started the war which the Baratheons won and made Robert the king in the start of the show.

All you need to know is Jon is a Starkgaryen and Dragon Queen's nephew

And he may or may be ahead of danarys in line for the throne.

He is, he is male.

But does he have to be legitimate?

And he is the son of the guy that was next in line.

I'm not a ASOIAF book reader; however,
isn't it the prevailing thought that Rhaegar and Lyanna actually eloped following her "abduction" at the Battle of Harrenhal so Jon's claim to the throne is legitimate?

He does, and he is Lyanna married Rhaegar Targaryen before Jon was conceived

I don't think Jon cares about the iron throne. He is rightly concerned about the white walkers and will probably concede the iron throne to dany if she helps him win the war. He was also mentored by aemon who was also in line for the throne and a targ and he knew there was a greater threat in life
Or targs are known for intermarrying and inbreeding there is a chance they get married.

I still say Band of Brothers is the best thing Ive ever seen on tv. But GoT is a damn close second.

I,liked Band of Borthers better as well, but I made it through the first few seasons of this show on the hopes of more scenes of the blonde getting it from behind.

Gonna have to say it's a tough call with Breaking Bad...

Technically, it doesn't matter much where their position is. Robert dethroned the Targaryens, so neither Jon nor Daenarys have a claim. Right now, Jaime should be the king because something like his great great great grandfather was a Baratheon.

I think the whole speal about Jamie being irrisistable to women is gonna come into play with Danerys when she gets to Kings Landing. She even said she would have to Marry to keep the peace. That or she marry's John without knowing they are kin

Actually Gendry (who we haven't seen for 3 seasons on the show) is Robert Baratheon's bastard son and he would have the most legitimate claim to the throne assuming no war. None of it really matters though as the books and show have shown whoever has the largest army and/or political savvy will become the king/queen of Westeros regardless of whether they are legitimate or not.

No way Dany is interested in Jaime Lannister after what Gregor Clegane (under Lannister order) did to the Targaryen children after sacking kings landing.
I also have a feeling that Jaime will not survive in the end and die a hero in the battle against the white walkers. He has no respect from anyone in regards to his honor and deeds in the show besides Brienne. Joffrey made fun of the fact that he had no deeds in the kingsguard book while Walder Frey insulted him by saying that the only battle he ever fought in, he was captured by Robb Stark. It seems as though every person he meets in the show has a great disdain for him and love to call him Kingslayer. Jaime's character really evolved after he was captured by the Starks and subsequently lost his hand while traveling with Brienne. I think he has really been trying to do what is right / just since then.

Whoever Danny marries, I hope they show her getting it from behind more often. There is a reason they noted she left her best guy back with the slaves.

Tywin ordered the mountain to kill the children, but I think you're right. Dany would never get with Jaime. Un fact, I could see her killing him. Will be interesting tho because of tyrion and jaimes relationship

I think some wacky Romeo and Juliet crap might happen with Jaime and Cersie.

I think she would be open to Jamie.
