No one said he has to "trash" anyone. frick, he doesn't "have" to do anything. You are welcome to read my Richt "quote" and criticize what I think he should have said.

Speaking truths publicly in a considerate and constructive way is not a bad thing, unless your target's feelings are fragile like a young girl's and an overdose on over-the-counter sleeping aids is their security blanket of choice.

Nothing wrong with keeping the "dirty laundry" in the house Imo. what needs to be said can he said "in the arena."

Means just as much as blaming this seasons QB failure on a former OC now 1500 miles away. The HC is to blame for every failed player.

No, it actually means far less since murray has zero to do with the current situation.

If anything, The hc is responsible for Bobo's failures, but so is bobo himself.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that if you don't give two fricks about what your fan base thinks. Richt may not. I don't know.

Look, I am all for keeping the "arse chewings" and "blow-ups" "in the arena". But Richt does interviews. He does call in shows. He has fan interaction. All I'd like to see is some honest, constructive introspection and criticism when merited. Leave that ambiguous coach speak to the pretenders...

Richt never has been one to talk that way when he won championships and never will be when we struggle, and I am fine with that. I think the negatives outweigh the positives going the "public" route you want. This ain't the NFL and recruiting must be considered.

Also, accentuating factors must be taken into account, and it seems you aren't interested in that.

I'm interested in "keeping it real"...calling a spade a spade. That's all. I see nothing wrong with the quote that I posted. Nothing at all. It's honest, it is well stated, and it does nothing to paint one into a corner.

The original quote is shite. It reminds me of "Bull Durham" when Crash has Nuke write down some quotes for interviews with the press.

"You just gotta take it one game at a time..."

Something's got to give, though. The offensive statistics are enough to make the most pious of men take a hit from the bong.

Show us that you are concerned.

"Full faith". frick me...

If you understood the accentuating factors, you would realize why what you want isn't as appropriate as you think. Staying with your analogy, Those factors are the cards that have been dealt.

If the original quote was false, you would have a point. It's true, but It's just not in harsh enough words for you. Sounds like you need to stick to the NFL hard knocks on hbo.

But it doesn't have to give Just because you say so. You and I aren't important enough to know about the stuff you want access to. Imo, only an idiot would even consider the idea that Richt isn't concerned about things, but he isn't dumb enough to air the dirty laundry you crave. Don't need to give extra ammo to rivals recruiting against us or to plant bad seeds in recruits heads. For some reason you don't one crap about the repercussions of such actions, and that's very short sighted and selfish.

For some reason, you a leaving me with the impression that you may have been overly criticized as a child.

Normal people would never imply that pointing out "(h)e has to improve." and that he "expect(s) more from our coordinator, and (he) feel(s) like he is capable of more..." is comparable to giving "extra ammo to rivals".

What gives? You can tell us.

Show us on the G.I. Joe where they hurt you.

Not an accurate conclusion to reach, but I do have enough common sense to know that private criticism is plenty good enough and all that is necessary to get a point across without causing any possible collateral damage to recruiitng.

You need to learn to read into his careful words better. When he says "we have had downs", he is acknowledging a lack of production. When he says "We’ve just got to continue to get better as we go", he is essentially saying the o needs to improve.

Overall, It's a shame you don't realize the cards the o has been dealt this year. Not really sure it's capable of much more.

A QB that sucks, a world class tailback that's out, and receivers that suck (sans Mitchell, of course).

Discussed.

Yes...I'm the head guy of an organization with a rabid fan base...so obviously the right thing to do is throw my newly hired subordinate under the bus in a public forum when things aren't going right.

Do you guys actually work in the real world? Do you know how unprofessional it is to bad mouth your report?

We can call folks like him the "hard knocks" generation. They want insider views to the detriment to the program. Such a move would be a disaster publically. He chooses his words carefully and its a skill he is good at. We got a rebuilding job in progress. Accept it.

Some of us don't understand these "accentuating factors" you speak of. Please clarify.
