Those are the moments that have people screaming that we're poorly coached.

Doesn't he kind of have a history of screwing up on returns?

I said it a while back, will say again, Reggie is one of the biggest busts in UGA football history. The guy has great length and speed but no drive, can't catch half the time and prone to TOO MANY MISTAKES.

I don't think you can blame that on coaching. Maybe if the coaches were out there and they field the punt and stepped out of bounds, then yeah. Otherwise, it was the execution that was the problem. Then when you consider it was Reggie Davis, then you should see that if there is anything to blame on the coaches, it is having him back there. RD has had mental frick ups like this his whole career at UGA. Either RD is a practice warrior, or our talent level is extremely low to let him get as much playing time as he has.

Davis continues to screw things up. He must have the IQ of a turnip.

Yeah, I'm sure the coaches told him to do that

What really pissed me off afterwards is the fact that he came out for the very next kick return. Is there no accountability for shite like this? He shouldn't return another kick for the rest of the year for that mistake.

Question: meet answer.

No, smart arse, I don't think the coaches taught him to step out of bounds at the 3, but there seemed to be ZERO accountability or repercussions for a boneheaded play that ended up costing us 3 points and possibly the game.

Stupid is as stupid does and a lot of our team shows pretty frequent stupidity. Especially on special teams which is 90% strategy and discipline.

Good coaches correct mistakes and improve technique. They also put players in a position to succeed.

It isn't like Davis is a prolific returner anyways. Just seems like this would have been a good opportunity to show that everyone will be held accountable for stupid mistakes.

Yeah, our 3 star receiver is one of the biggest busts in UGA history because our fans overrated him after his 97 yard TD catch against North Texas. It's not his fault the coaching staff keeps putting him out on the field. He's never been good on special teams. The only good moment I can remember came off a punt he muffed and was lucky it bounced right to him.

To say he is one of our biggest busts is absurd.

Wasn't he the one that fumbled the punt at Vandy '13 to fuel that loss?

If we bench every player for the rest of the year, we'll have a small roster for the Tech game. We can use a mini-van instead of buses.
By that reasoning, why is Eason on the field after throwing an interception?

It does shock me that so many teams don't coach kick returners on those rules. If he would have just stepped out before he caught it we get it at the 35. Pretty simple thing that they clearly have never drilled on.

I coach HS football and it's something we cover. Would definitely expect it to be covered at that level. Especially when the opponent is attempting to kick it to the corner all game.

Why isn't McKenzie returning KO's. Anybody heard that question asked. I know there's a difference between punts and KO's but with his speed and ability to change directions it looks like he would be a good one.

Comparing a true freshman QB playing the hardest position to a junior who is playing one of the easiest is hardly a fair comparison. You pick and choose when to bench players to send a message about discipline, all good coaches do it. All players make mistakes but Davis has done it again and again. Dropped passes, muffed punts, special teams mistakes, etc. The guy should not be seeing the field for meaningful snaps.

He did a couple years ago. I think since he's on the field so so much on offense now they don't want the extra contact of the kick off returns. He's a pretty small guy to take repeated poundings.
