meh. I actually kinda like that we're settling into a semi-routine of doing it the last SEC home game. The fans blacked out AU last year, we did it against UK in 09, and hell we even did it against UK in 03 (also the first game the G at midfield was black) for dooley's retirement.
So many people want to say a "blackout" is a gimmick. I like this move...make it a set game every year so instead of people talking out their arse it's just a thing that we do.
What's also badass is that one of these days we might pull out the black jerseys against AU, and the fans will already be in black.

I know we're officially "calling for" redouts in certain games, but I agree I feel like every home game (before it's cold I should say) people should wear red.

They don't though. People bring up the damn excuse that it's too hot to wear red which is the laziest damn excuse, all things being equal.

I mean if we're doing a blackout I'd like it to be against a big time team. Also we better see the black jerseys this season, seriously it's cowardly not to being them back

mcgarity already said we aren't wearing black. And I don't think there's anything cowardly about it. Yes I realize black is one of our colors, but it's still an alternate jersey that isn't what we normally wear. We've worn black jerseys 3 times in 120+ years, it's not like we're refusing to wear red or something.
I probably would too, but on the flip side it's kind nice doing it against kentucky because that's a game the fans probably won't be that fired up about normally, but the black will change that IMO.

After the Nike announcement, McGarity said that there's no black jerseys this year.
