I never realized that we fully release recruits and never block schools. That seems nice.

WOW.

Could NOT have been better. Dude was genuine and said everything any Dawg fan could want to hear. Press room was packed. CJP said more reporters there than at the MNC game presser.

Recap:

Will Friend Played a huge role and actually was the one that reached out to CJP

CJP said Richt was someone he always wanted to work for after meeting him in 2003

CJP doesn't care about his past successes and championship rings. He wants to always look ahead and win more rings

Stats don't matter. It's about getting the WIN

CJP cares about players on/off field. He feels like the Georgia way is the way he has alaways been

CJP wants to get back to the fundementals. Run a simple defense and let the athletes play ball. Will not run a play if the defense doesnt fully understand it

CJP will be coaching DBs and some ST. He says turnovers are important and wants to be aggressive, while staying sound in the fundementals.

CJP has already started looking at our 2014 commits, targets, and commits to other schools. He has evaluated our current players. Changes may/may not come to current commits and who we are targeting before NSD

CJP is engaged.

Lastly, Any Dawg fan listening to that now has a huge throbing prode in their pants.

God damn I like this guy. That may be the inner-disney in me trying to escape but this guy sounds humble and genuine. Idk, CTG always came across a sleaze who just pandered to the media but this guy, idk, I think my bias clouds me but I like him

I feel the same way. I remember listening to him at the FSU signing day party and he was very humble and seemed like a good guy.

Put yourself in a players shoes........

Think of the frustration of being saddled with a calculus defensive scheme that you just can't ever seem to fully master. Think of the doubts you would be having.

And then think of that yoke finally being lifted off of your shoulders........think of the relief....the excitement.....the LIBERATION!!!....of that. And think of the appreciation and trust and loyalty you would have for the man that freed you from your plight........that you are now following into battle!!...

It's on.

Exciting Times!!!..........

Onward....

This makes me wonder if he wasn't happy with some of the way that FSU handled things. The big question has been why he would make a switch from FSU for a relatively small amount of money.

Like it or not, CMR runs a different kind of program in recruiting, discipline, etc. Maybe this guy likes that approach and didn't really care for the "FSU Way".

Whether bullshite or not it sounds like a great fit. Also, he knows exactly what he's getting if he's that close to Friend so I think we're in great shape with this one.

Music to my ears. I'm actually optimistic about our defense for the first time in a long time. Happy Day!! Goooooo Dawgs!!

It's all marketing-101.

CPJ established a connection with the fan base and (their concerns) while complimenting the existing brand.

It was a generals speech nothing more or less but, he did pull it off and it was much needed.

Gene Stallings says he is a techniques coach first and scheme coach second and I usually follow what other people say about someone than what they say.

Just my 02c

In other words, the exact opposite of CTG.

I'll take it.

This is the equivalent of Richt stepping up to bat and, on the first swing, hitting one into the center field lights.

Really nothing more you could have possibly hoped for (and there were even some subtle shots at Smart!)
