I don't think so. Like I said, the self-serving nature of your advice invites skepticism on multiple fronts. There aren't many GT parallels (by that I mean great players with proven high draft propects), but I sincerely doubt you were advocating that Calvin Johnson quit at any point during his final season. Players rarely do while the team goals are intact, and fans rarely want them to do so unless it's an opposing star player. It made even less sense for Gurley, because he was already facing a character question.

Dude sold autographs after being told multiple times not to. Hard to see how that makes him a "faithful" guy.

I guess I just don't understand the point of this thread.

I didn't see Georgia quit in that game. That was Richt's worst team IMO; it happens to every coach if they stick around long enough. They were understandably not fired up to play UCF and they weren't mentally prepared for a decent UCF team, but that's not the same as quitting on their coach or their program. If that's your evidence, I'm happy to respectfully disagree.

Gurley was out there running hard yesterday, even after he hurt his elbow. Maybe you're not happy with his monetary decisions, but Gurley made a mistake, served his punishment and then came back to play for the team. The whole subject of the thread was a tech fan saying he made a mistake by not quitting.

Well, the point is fairly well discussed several times. If you're looking for deeper meaning, it's essentially GT week and we have some tech fans on the board who have no compunctions about insulting Georgia players, fans and coaches. We also have plenty of presumed Georgia fans who sound remarkable similar to tech fans on many issues.
So, being insufficiently browbeaten by DawgRant's longstanding culture of UGA (self?) loathing, I find it refreshing to turn the tables just a tad when I think it's warranted and timely. If my attempt in that vein is the only objectionable post you can find here, dwarfed by a mountain of criticism on this board over every little thing that UGA AD and Todd Gurley have done this year, then I'm glad to give you the opportunity to jump on the pile.

Of course GT fans insult UGA players, fans and coaches. We expect UGA fans to show the same courtesy to us. Good grief.
You either need to toughen up, or find a board where everything is rainbows and unicorns.

Well, what' your problem? That's exactly what I'm doing, pointing out your two faced, self-serving, gloating behavior. I'm very happy to play this game, especially since this is, at least nominally, a Georgia board. So, by toughen up, do you mean I should say more things like "GFY", bear your snide insults in silence, or what exactly? I'm not sure what exactly passes for tough among the tech faithful.
BTW, you never did say at what point you were ready for Calvin Johnson to call it quits? Was it right before the Georgia game his junior year, for his own good of course.

See, you assumed I was being self-serving and gloating. I was neither. I couldn't care less whether he plays in the GT-UGA game. I was merely pointing out that he had nothing left to prove, and was risking injury for a team that threw him under the bus based on a rumor.

Ah, now you resort to humorous self-deprecation. Sorry, that probably seals the debate for your old DawgRant friends, but I still see a snide GT fan.
But, just for the satisfaction of seeing you lie, did you repeatedly call for Calvin to quit before the UGA game? If not, why weren't you a champion for Calvin's interests like you have been for Todd?

That's too bad. A smart tech fan like yourself (goes without saying, right), and you can't even figure a face saving way to answer my question. Come on, just lie and say you said Calvin should quit. Everyone here will believe you, with the possible exception of me.

Ah, just poking fun at a few tech fans and their friends. Rules didn't really mean it when he said I was a moron and told me to GFM. It's just his way of welcoming me into the DawgRant inner circle. I'll be calling for Richt's job before you know it.

I feel like you're trying to steal WG's thunder with the lengthy explanations and all. He's got tenure on that so you're gonna have to wrap it up here in the next few minutes using fewer words.

Of course you're not really a moron. You just play one on the internet.
