See. You've bought into the fraud that polling is "science". It's not.

Which is sad. And actually pretty fricking bizarre because as a voter you benefit exactly ZERO from any poll anywhere at any time. In any way imaginable under the sun.

Except it is. Is it infallible? No, but on the whole these black magic voodoo polls tend to be pretty accurate. They get a large enough sample to get a reasonably good picture of the current situation. It's a useful indicator.

That depends. In a primary situation, polls can help you determine which candidates could conceivably win so you don't waste a vote on somebody who has no chance.

Dude, why bother? You're not going to get an intelligent rebuttal, just another insult thrown your way. It's like actually arguing with Trump.

No. It's not.

This is beyond bizarre that voters would actually defend the tools that are being used to disenfranchise them.

This is what they tried to do with Brexit.

The polls reported all day that "Stay" was winning big..... to try and discourage people from bothering to come out in the rain just to waste their time casting a "Leave" vote.

"Leave' won big anyway. So much for "science" that day i guess.

Polls did likely effect that vote, but more in the way of convincing people that were going to vote for "stay" that they didn't need to waste their time.

Thus, polls are not infallible. People don't show up. People change their minds. They are still using statistics. That's why the polls cite margins of error.

On the topic of Stockholm Syndrome, there's a whole lot of that going on in the Republican Party these days.

Well that's just not true at all. I just looked at several polls and they were all pretty close for months. In the days leading up to the vote, a lot of sites and polls were saying that it could go either way, and it ended up being 51-49.

51-49 really is a blowout

I think the problem with that was that most people figured that people voting for "leave" were more likely to participate in polls.

^^^ See, you actually looked up information and the response was an insult. This is comically predictable.

Nice! You said in your earlier post that polls are an invaluable source of intel for you personally in that it keeps you from voting for a candidate that doesn't have a chance.........and now you say that polls do the opposite. They keep people/things from voting for people that are going to win.

This is too good!

He looked up info about polls in the months before the vote when I was clearly speaking about exit polls the day of the vote.

Butt out, or at least try to keep up. Thanks.

That's not what I said. What I said was that in a primary situation (ie. more that 2-3 candidates), polls can help you decide who has a chance to win.

Example: This year, some people voted for Lindsey Graham and Mike Huckabee. If they'd looked at polls, they would have known that that would be a waste.

Do you have any link or shred of evidence to back that up, that is the media purposely misleading the public to stay in and not vote? I ask this knowing full well you'll deflect or say something about the kids table. From what I remember on that day, people knew throughout the day that it was going to be close, they didn't just suddenly announce that night that they left the EU leaving people shocked that the "remain" side didn't win by 15 points.

The conversation was about the polling data in the Washington Post for 2 pages, then a simple "all day" reference in your post means we've shifted the conversation to exit polls? Got it.

Of course he doesn't. He still won't tell us where he gets his news since we're all idiots for reading the Washington Post.

He reminds me of my cousin who ate a lot of lead based paint chips as a child. When he says that that the moon is made of cheese you just go along with him and say: "Yeah Duncan, you bet it is.", because if you don't, then 2 hours later you realize you've been arguing with a retard for 2 hours about something that you know to be factual. Who's the winner in that situation? Definitely not the guy arguing with the water head for hours on end.
