I honestly wouldn't have given it a second thought about it this morning, were it not for Fox5 reminding everyone about every 47 seconds this morning. That, and the palpable white guilt that pops up on Facebook by left-wingers quoting MLK, commemorating the event.

In fairness, however, I note that Presidents' Day doesn't get any of the same press. You rarely see folks repeating pearls of wisdom from Lincoln or Washington. Or any former President, for that fact.

Yeah, I go to work. We do not get the day off unlike the parasites who work for the government.

I work for the government. Didn't realize that made one a parasite.

Pretty much. I once worked for the government but now I just pay for your salaries and pensions. Only odumbo thinks government adds anything to the economy.

I'd think it's a bit of a stretch to label all government employees parasites, but I'd venture to say that the "Do Just Enough to Keep from Getting Fired" to Entire Workforce ratio is noticeably higher in government work than in the private sector.

Not as a contractor!!! I'm not a GS worker but I do contract work for the government. That being said, i've dealt with government workers my entire career and never really noticed a difference. Lazy people exist inside and outside the workforce in all directions. It was actually a little worse in the military.

So, where did you think the money comes from that they've been paying you?

They have to steal it from someone first before they can disperse it out to the various forms of parasites such as yourself....both here and abroad.

I've been working all day, too. I'm celebrating by being a productive member of society.

You do realize that the GDP is directly tied to Government spending, right? When the economy is doing poorly, governments (not just in the U.S.) increase spending in an effort to stabilize the economy. You may not agree with that approach, but government spending definitely adds to the economy. There is simply no way around that fact. They are not in separate vacuums, but instead coexist.

That money that the government "steals" from you is called taxes. They are a necessary evil. Taxes help to pay for things like military, police, teachers, roads, sports stadiums, etc... Again, you may not agree with the way every tax dollar is spent, but unless you have never used any government service (which isn't even possible), your money was not stolen from you.

That is pretty freaking funny. Say there are 100 government employees and no private industries to tax. Once the government has borrowed all it can (and it will), then it is shite out of luck. No one to tax. The GA Business School must have gone down hill since I graduated.

I will say there are hard working individuals who have government jobs but there are far more who could not get hired any where else. Government is a welfare program theses days. But back to my point, government adds nothing to the economy so it would be better for these hard working employees to get jobs in the real world. The best government can do is to stay out of the way of business and not be too much of a burden.

That's pure fricking Evil right there.........

I don't remember asking for any of these things. I don't ever remember signing a contract or agreeing to terms for such an exchange.......

Meanwhile though, if I don't pay my "taxes", they will send someone after me. If I don't cooperate with them, I will be put in a cage. If I resist any of this, they will put a bullet in my head.

This is called "Theft".

The laughable part of this though......s that you don't even understand that these "taxes" don't even cover a fraction of the money that the government is spending. You don't understand the immorality and Evil that borrowing money and printing money to pay for all of the spending...........and what it means for what we are leaving for our kids and grand-kids.....

taxes. They are a necessary evil

Go frick yourself, commie.

Un-fricking-believable.
