anyone else catch it? It's been 20 years since Tiger won his first. Watching his interviews following each day's play and getting more and more confident he got and when he realized he was going to win it. The chip shots he was making with ease on Moving Day. The shots that would propel him to many more major wins.

And then that emotional moment between him and his Dad as he came off the 18th green.

inB4 all you Tiger haters downvote me for this... but it's heartbreaking for me to see his mental and physical collapse over the last several years. How I would love to see him win just one more green jacket.

Tiger is the GOAT. Golf needs him more than he needs golf but damn I hate see him struggle to come back like this and not be able to compete. I could care less that he likes to pee on chicks, he totally changed the game and is Babe Ruth/Michael Jordan legendary.

Sorry. He's 4 majors short.

Because Eldrich tiger Woods is such a well-rounded renaissance man, right? Golf is just a hobby to him right?

Holy shite that's funny. The dudes entire life's purpose, focus, and reason for breathing is/was centered around one thing. And one thing only. Which was beating Jack's record.

Eldrich has no soul. He is the original sports robot. Or at least maybe just the first successful one.

And it ruined him. He took himself out . That's the sad part.

Golf is doing just fine without him but if you think it wouldnt be doing much better with him competing then you aren't paying attention

If anybody loses interest in a sport because one single player isn't competitive anymore, what does that say about that person's level of knowledge or interest or passion for the actual game itself?

It says maybe you don't know jack shite about golf. And probably yell "You da man!" after tee shots.

Good riddance to all the mike n mike douchebag schlubs that only followed golf because of Tiger. Nobody outside of the companies that made so much money off of you will miss you. Trust me.

who in this thread implied that, m8? I go to as many tournaments as I can, with or without Tiger playing in it. But to watch his ascension to become the player he did, the one who revolutionized the game (Fact), and now to witness what's going on now is disheartening to anyone who truly loves the game.

Nice... when you walk up to the 13th green, you'll think you're approaching a little corner of Heaven. Took my breath away the first time I saw it in person.

Enjoy the cheap beer, pimento cheese sandwiches and prepare to spend what amounts to a car payment in the gift shop.

Well obviously. I like to feel like I'm somewhat knowledgeable

Tiger brings the biggest crowd and viewers by far. I was really just trying to say that the game is in good hands with a bunch of really solid young players (Rory, Jordan, JT, Rickie) and then you've got guys like Phil still playing well. And I didn't even mention the last two number 1 golfers in the world.

Careful there Jefferson, you are putting together some real "Mongotard" assumptions, inferences, and logic there.

Tiger was the best in the field, and head and shoulders above the rest of the field for years. Fans like to watch the best, players want to beat the best, and the whole sport benefits. Having a bunch of really good B+ players battle it out every week is great golf, and I really enjoy the product right now, but to say that having a true Alpha on the course that everyone is playing catch-up to doesn't raise the level of competition and excitement is obtuse. Don't be obtuse.

Hobnail and the mike&mike brigade did.

They say golf somehow "needs" the guy who hasn't been competitive in four years. The guy who wasn't around for 2015, probably the most exciting year on the PGA tour in a decade.

ehhhh. I mean nobody really cares that UConn women's basketball is untouchable, although nobody cares about WBB to begin with so that's not really a fair comparison.

I'm not an avid golf-watcher. Heck I'm probably not even what you'd call a casual golf-watcher. But when Tiger was playing it almost made broadcasts unwatchable because ALL they'd ever show or talk about is Tiger. tiger tiger tiger. Hey I get that the guys' good and all, but I mean there's a bunch of other guys playing too. And this was even AFTER he started fading when others had passed him by. That was still all anyone woudl ever talk about, even if the guy was like 10 shots back!

For the casual viewer like me, give me a group like spieth, rory, DJ, etc battling it out late over Tiger dominating everyone any day.

Compared to Tiger in his prime, no one on tour now sniffs a B+.

Try to keep up.

Sounds exactly like what a "You da man!" yelling backwards hat schlub would say if he called in to the Mike & Mike radio show to talk while chewing food...

Yes, we all know that Tiger is one of the best players ever, but nobody earns a pga tour card unless they are in the top 1% of the .001%

And then theres this wonderboy kid that almost won three majors in a row a year ago and this irish kid that just needs a green jacket for the career grandslam already, and then theres the players winning majors in their 40s when tiger hasnt won one since he was 32, and on and on. And on.

I respect Tiger as a legend. But his fan boy mike n miker groupies are useless.

Reading comprehension, how does that work?

You tell me.

I'm trying to explain to you how the quality of golf has not gone down compared to prime Tiger. That it may even be better, but without just one person dominating. But you don't seem to comprehend.

Also, I think Wonder Boy has as many tour wins as Tiger had at that exact same age. So there's that too.
