They missed a FG, allowed a 50 yard return and had issues fielding a number of punts...

So all the blocked kicks/punts and return TDs over the years...we just lucked into those?

If that team was UGA last night, the missed FG, kick coverage and punt return blunders would have been hyper analyzed and our football coaching specialists would lament the fact that, even though we did some good things, the lack of a special teams coach caused us to not play a complete special teams game.

As a whole, I think Georgia has had better special teams play than Bama has the last few years. The 9-6 game, the kick 6...It's not like Bama's been special in that area since Saban has been there.

They missed more field goals in the 9-6 game than Morgan missed his whole career.

we were in the game vs Bama this year until they blocked a punt for a TD; after that, it looked like our guys just mailed it in and the rout was on

ST play and breakdowns has been a huge issue for us over the years

I know, we have had a few big plays as well; but against top teams, ST mishaps have been deadly

The NC game was won by Bama based on a perfectly executed on-sides kick and a kickoff returned for a TD. We've had some success and we've had some blunders. Everybody knows that. Now we have a dedicated special teams coach and there is a reason for that in Smart's mind. Maybe you know better. But before you send CKS your resume, UGA ranked 49th in special teams in '15.

ok...and? You intimated that richt didn't put any importance on ST, what you said above has zero to do with that.

sure we have. Just like bama. Remember that whole getting a kick blocked and returned for a TD thing when we played them? Or them having a ST meltdown in teh 1st quarter of the title game against Texas? Or electing to kick a damn 60 yard FG and not set up a safe return unit?

You know that bama doesn't have a "dedicated" ST coach right? They have a ST coordinator that does ST duties in addition to position coaching. Guess who else did that? Yep.....richt! Crazy, I know.

Based on staff number restrictions, I don't know of a single school in America that has a coach that is solely dedicated to ST. It'd be an enormous waste. We haven't done anythign differently than saban or anyoen else. Why you think that richt didn't care about ST just because another team played well on ST in one game is quite odd.

New flash ....CMR is gone and that goes out to the beans and bashers.... he is gone and a new day is here.. hopefully we can shake the mediocrity... with what I would call an Allstar staff.

Against Bama in 2012, we had a fake punt as well that set up a touchdown. It just looks like some people try and only remember the good things other teams do, and the bad things we do. Its a little ridiculous.
