What the frick happened to these guys? They became the strength of our team last year and this past Saturday they literally looked like they haven't played a fricking college snap.

This was the most disturbing thing I saw from Saturday. We should have moved the ball at Will and Murray should have had as much time as needed to get the ball down field. With this much experience and size advantage over Clemsux, there is no excuse I will take other then an entitled group of frick ups got there asses whipped by a godamn ACC squad, none of which will even come close to what we will face this weekend.

WE are in trouble.

I know I'm being negative, but you have to ask yourself how strong were they last year? I know they improved, but they still finished 72nd in the country in pass protection.

While I agree they were not that great last season, they seemed to progressively get better as the week goes on and did a hella of a job against bama in the SEC title game. You'd think, once at that level, they could use that experience to plateau to a new level of awesomeness this season. Instead, it looks like we literally started over...and with SC on the horizon, we are frickED

I don't want to get totally negative so maybe it was the noise, as christopher has said, that really fricked them up. It was a tough first game to open up with.

Yes, they got abused on a few occasions. But, as one poster said on here earlier, when the line can't hear the count, they pretty much go visual - which is the same as the D. In that case, the D is gonna win much more often than not...

Tough? It was an acc team. That's like playing a jr college.

I think you nailed it. I really think they will be ok as a whole. Left Tackle is a concern, as it was last year. I don't anticipate a huge improvement this week just based on the SouCar DLine. We opened with Clemson who has a pretty decent DLine...better than any of us anticipated. By the time LSU rolls in here, I think you will see a greatly improved Offensive Line. They will have 3 games under their belts. Offense jells last. Defense ,as a whole, is a reaction situation while Offense is more timing. I would be willing to bet the OLine had a hard time hearing the signals and was going by when the ball was snapped. that removes the advantage of knowing the snap count. The OLine saw the ball snapped at the same time the defense did.

Don't get me wrong...there definitely needs to be some improvement. And with Clowney and Sutton coming in it will be another tough, tough, tough game.

Just think back have you ever known UGA to get up and play to there potential the first game of the season. I don't think they ever have while Richt has been here.

C'mon...we weren't the only team that played in a loud opener against a good team. There werent prepared and their conditioning sucks. Same as every year....except this time it was against Clemson in the 1st game rather than USCe in the second.

Tell me, is it a big surprise that it was going to be loud? Death Valley on opening night at 8 pm...wow...no way we could've see than coming.

I wish people would stop listening to their friends and other ranters and repeating falsehoods. Georgia has played up to their potential plenty of times in their first game while Richt has been coach. Is Richt perfect? no. But go back through the schedules and see what Georgia has done in their first games of the season and they have won many and played well in many.

Clemson was a top 10 team. We played well. If not for a blown snap on the field goal it would have been a tied game going into OT. Who know what would have happened.

Did anybody watch any of the other SEC teams in their first games? We played a superior opponent than ANY of them and looked better. Alabama's offense looked horrid. Do you see their fan base crying? A&M's defense looked awful against RICE, for crying out loud. You would think they just won the National Championship. But listen to our fans and the world is coming to an end.

So...you're telling me that UGA is the first team ever to play in a loud opener against a good team?

Your response is trying to get a "gotcha" rather than answer the question. Good try....ehh....not really.

I'll try again....can a team prepare to play in a loud environment? If so, why weren't we prepared to hold back an undersized ACC defense as the OP asked?

And..if you really think its because "it was loud" then we're more screwed than I thought...

Poor unlucky bastards....

Georgia was the only SEC team that played a good team this weekend. The only other school that played on okay team was LSU played TCU.

My point was that getting a veteran line ready to play in a loud environment shouldn't be a deciding factor ..... the fact the Death Valley was loud didn't surprise anyone.

Here was YOUR post:

C'mon...we weren't the only team that played in a loud opener against a good team.

You indicated that you were talking about this past weekend....so you tell me. Who else played a game like ours?

No, I don't think it was because it was loud. I think there were a lot of reasons.

1. Clemson is a very good team.
2. It was loud.
3. We have a VERY young defense
4. We made some BAD mistakes...jitters? I don't know.
5. Muffed snap on field goal

Did you look at the other SEC teams that played this past week? How many truly looked good?

TCU is an EXCELLENT team. but the atmosphere was not what we faced at Clemson, do you think? And I don't think TCU is in the same class as Clemson, either. AND check out the stats of that game. Do you really think LSU looked MUCH better than Georgia?

I agree. I think it is too simplistic to say the noise was the deciding factor. I also think to discount the noise is naive, though.

Snap count and crowd noise be damned.....the O line know where they are going before the play PERIOD. They got beat up front. Plain and simple.

Clowney is going to rape Aaron Murray.
