I am not going to get into the middle of an argument about t-shirts....however when I saw this I had to say something.

The military is also about to allow transgenders to serve openly, so I don't think I would use them as the bastion of good sense and taste.

I can't argue with that. Keep in mind when I served a guy had a small neck tattoo and they made him wear turtlenecks everyday. He wasn't allowed to show that tattoo. Times are changing .....never said I agreed to the changes. lol

Tat idea: Since some claim to wear tanks to escape the sweltering .0005 degree farenheit heat increase that sleeves cause.... Why not just tattoo a life-sized tank top tattoo over your torso and upper body? Then a douche could prance around shirtless, but it would look like they're still wearing a tank. We could be talking another .005 degree F heat decreasement here and also more douche points.

I'd like a trashy rating please.

I only have 1 tattoo but it's high on my arm so it's never seen unless I want it to be. In fact the only time it's ever seen out in public is at a pool or the beach or something. However, it's of the georgia G. Where does this rate on the trash-o-meter?

Wow. That would have been a bit uncomfortable in August, I would think.

By the way....in a day and time when you choose to serve (Or not) thanks for your decision to serve. It's a sacrifice any way you slice it, and I, for one appreciate it.

There is no doubt there. In some ways they are changing for the better, and in other ways, not so much. Ones perspective about times being better or worse often depend on when you grew up.

Wait a minute, WG. That's a trick question, isn't it? You can't get anything past me!

Love Georgia as much as anyone, but that's trashy.

I don't think I've worn a tank since I was in high school....which was in the late '80's so that was okay. Especially if it was a OP tank...

End of the day, tank tops are to show off tattoos. If you are insecure enough to alter your attire to show off something someone else inked on your arm or wherever....
What does that really say about you?

Besides that you are a douchebag.

Did I wake up in some parallel universe where all Aggie fans became Dawg fans? Wtf is this shite about dude's clothing choices. I personally don't give a frick what you or WG or any other dude is wearing. If you're insecure enough to judge other people for what they choose to wear what does that really say about you? Besides that you are a douchebag?

Ya.. No... This is not a style issue. It is grown men going in public in attire that was very recently relegated to rednecks. These same Millenial hipster light types once mocked these people for their tank tops... Now they wear them to show off their douchebag tattoos...

Frankly, I would judge these types in silence. It's just that the quest for the pinnacle of douchbagery has driven grown men into public areas to wear tank tops. We are forced to see their poor decisions and smell their unchecked arm pits. These acts were not only once socially unacceptable, but they were discouraged by all facets of culture and decorum. Now, the same group who were raised on participation trophies, now think the real world wants to see their insipid body renderings. We don't. You are not original. You are a douchbag in a tank top... Stop.

Well... you said this... then you said all that other stuff and contradicted yourself, so not sure what to make of you other than that you are trying to be the bastion of a bygone era. I mean there are a shite load of things that grown men do now that if we rewind would have been beyond unacceptable socially. News flash, it's 2016... there are not as many "grown men" as you think there are. There are a lot of 20-something kids. The participation trophy era that you refer to has also created a general culture of perpetual youth. Lots of kids move back in with their parents after school for example. This was a non-starter unless your house burned down or you lost your job previously.

Ultimately, tank tops fall somewhere between a 0 and .01 for me in terms of things I give a shite about, and that's on a scale of 0-1000. Clearly you have some passionate thoughts about them and I encourage you to dive into those feelings to assess what it is about them that causes so much deep seated angst. Perhaps you were abused by a redneck in a tank top in your past. Perhaps your mother wore tank tops religiously on Tuesdays while breast feeding you until 13. Who knows. But harness those feelings of resentment towards the *real* douchebags and I trust that you'll be able to uncover the mystery.

What the heck are you yapping about "altering" clothing for? I buy mine unaltered. Everyone does but maybe you are confusing tanks with cut offs? There's a difference Peter.

We have told you about comfort and heat control, which are legit reasons without tattoos or taboos. They are also cheaper than t shirts, so that's 3 great reasons against you.

Your generalizations about people who wear tanks is nonsensical. To make it worse, your generalizations are a sign of insecurity. Someone in a tank hurt your ego at some point in your life, am I right? Tell us about it. Maybe it was an ex's new husband or maybe your daughters high school boyfriend.

This makes no sense. I said it makes you a douchebag, I didn't say people don't do it. I cover up for a job interview, however every job I have had is completely fine with my tattoos.

No one who has a 36 inch waist is in "very good shape."

The beach is for poor people?? What kind of stupid statement is that. A long sleeve shirt is definitely not cooler than a tank top. Again a 36 inch waist is getting no one excited.

You sound like a bitter old man, who tries to sound better than people, but can only brag on the internet because his life sucks.

Not sure if you are serious....but....assuming you are, I think he means changing what you wear. People wouldn't wear tank tops a short time ago, but they have "altered their choice of what they wear" to show off their tattoos.

Again, I am not getting into the middle of this, but wanted to clarify this so we can go on with this stimulating conversation!

I find it amusing that you all find this such a hot button issue. Not a criticism as we all have issues we feel strongly about. Many of you would be horrified about my hot button issues. It just surprises me that this particular issue is one that you all get fired up about.

When you are my height, 36" is actually very good, but that's not what is at issue here.

Justifying wearing tank tops, which in themselves are douchebag, to show off one's tattoos is douchbag.

Just come clean and tell us that you are a douchebag with douchebag tattooes and you wear a douchebag tank top so to possibly impress other douchebags with your douchbagery. We can't help you until you admit you have the problem.

Again, This statement is just so stupid. Just because one person may do this doesn't mean everyone does. Stop repeating such nonsense for your own reputation.

Height doesn't have much affect on waist size. A 36 inch waist is not in very good shape. Sorry to burst your bubble but it's true.

I don't need to justify anything. You don't like them, I don't care. I'm going to wear them and I can bet you will keep your mouth shut since you want to be an Internet warrior.

Just come clean and tell us you're a bitter old man, that is lonely and mad because he is a little chubby, and bash on people for tank tops because you look so bad in one. I can make a workout plan for you, and you can be wearing tank tops in no time.
