According to some of the UGA guys, Lilly has been the ST coach for several years now supposedly.

I don't know if I can take the oppositions 3 gunners already within feet of the punt returner by the time the ball lands. It irked the frick out of me when Mcgowan would fair catch it while several defenders hovering around him before he catches it.

UGA was 124th in punt returns with 2.92 ypr. :yack:

Yea, if you're not gonna make an effort to block for a return at least rush the kick. They did neither. It was like 3 guys running after it, 2 guys blocking, and everyone else playing stink finger. It was a wasted play every damn time.

Hopefully the fact that we recruited McKenzie will signify a change in punt return philosophy. That kid wasn't brought in to fair catch

Digging alittle deeper... UGA was actually tied at 34th in punt return attempts, 25 attempts overall. Which meant the 3rd down defense wasn't THAT BAD on third downs. Wasn't good of course but pretty decent.

Consider 10 other schools that played one more game and 6 that played one less...

The punt defense is very good ranked 19th at 4.3 ypr. Only team in the top 60 to allow 2 TDs, pretty interesting. Credit goes to punter too.

Just need to give guys that touch the ball on ST the legitimate chance to do anything.

At least someone will be to blame now rather than the same ole "we aren't making any changes" routine.

Georgia: Per source, Clark Atlanta head strength coach Gus Felder will join the UGA staff as assistant strength coach.

But UGA ranked 124th in return yardage. 2.92 YPR

Interesting note. Florida State ranked 123rd in punt return yards allowed. Over 16 yards per return. Who coached their punt special teams?
