Considering the increasing campaign to put a Major League team in Nashville, I’m wondering if the Braves are anticipating that and planning on increasing their Georgia saturation rather than relying on their regional branding should Nashville ever get a team.

This was their plan starting back in early 2000s. If only the Braves still owned their minors…and called them all the Braves :(

There was some scathing article a few years ago about how the Braves were looking to move the minor league team in Greenville, and they hired some snake oil salesman to find a new city that would build a new stadium and give tax breaks and corporate welfare. The mayor and city council in podunk Pearl, Mississippi ended up falling for it, and it's been a money pit and a headache ever since.

Wish that i could find the article. They didnt hold back.

They could all probably move to Lake Point in Emerson, Ga. Bobby Cox helped build this place. It holds tournaments of all kinds. But it definitely has the setting p for minor league baseball

Are they going to stick with the Braves as their mascot? I kind of like some of the fun names some teams are incorporating. How do we feel about the Georgia June Bugs?

Come over to Huntsville when they play the Rocket City Trash Pandas and I'll buy you a beer, or two, or three.

During COVID, little league baseball was having trouble getting MLB team baseball hats due to supply chain issues. The next season, they moved to minor league teams to be able to get the supply. That season, we were the Mudcats. I thought that was a cool idea and original at the time.

Our association, along with many around the country, added it in again recently cause of the success it actually had changing it up. Our team this past season was the Trash Pandas. Kids thought it was great and even did “Panda ears” when they got a double or stole a base (instead of the the Acuna chop or reviving it up)

I lived in Greenville when the G-Braves moved there in '84. They were really popular and lot of the games had big crowds. Ironically we moved to Savannah a few years later where the AA Braves had moved from. I was surprised when they moved to Jackson. I know the Braves were not happy with the stadium. There was nothing state of the art of fancy about it, but I thought it was a cool baseball park. It was cool because the A-Braves were only 2 hrs down the road. That's a big plus for Columbus but I wish they move back to Greenville.
