That's 100% incorrect. There's some good young talent on this team. Mann, Gaines, Parker, Frazier, etc... is a good nucleolus to build a program. UGA is just fortunate enough to have the WORST basketball coach in the country.

Unlike football, college basketball teams only sign between 3-8 players a year (unless your UK because your entire team leaves for the NBA). All it takes is ONE great recruiting class to be relevant. It doesn't start at the AAU level like most of you people say. It starts by getting 2-3 elite JUCO talents, then filling in the holes.

First off college basketball as a whole sucks compared to the eighties. The great players go after the first year.

Second we should have begged Tubby Smith to come back after KU let him go.

Why don't they just put up a circus tent in Sanford lay down a floor and raze Stegeman to the ground then you have the correct starting point coupled with a sense of urgency.

You just can't refurbish something economically which opened in 1964 with 2014 in mind, that's physically irresponsible big picture.

Plus we need a great facility so the ACC will take us in.

I think the new coach hired comes into a solid situation honestly. This team returns everyone but Dante, should be able to come in and be a decent, 500 team. Then you have 6 scholarships open to immediately bring in all your own guys and it also happens to be a very good year of talent in GA HS ball.

only takes 1 or 2 classes to completely change a basketball program. It definitely can be done here. I'm just praying the AD decides to put some effort into it. It's embarrassing being so bad at basketball all winter.

But it is so obvious it will never happen plus they would have to commit to drastically upgrade facilities for him to come, which they won't.

I don't see what the big deal with the publicity is. Pearl just lied about a secondary violation. That's all he did. People here in Knoxville would have him back in a heartbeat. They are already talking about wanting to fire Cuonzo to get Pearl back. The man single handedly put UT men's basketball on the map and rejuvenated fan support to an all-time high. He teamed up with Pat Summit and the football team to get support for every major sport there. Yeah, he may have lied about something stupid, but he's paid the penalty and if there's one man that rivals Peyton as all-time favorite UT person (besides Pat Summit of course) it's Bruce. That alone should be enough to want to hire him.

And you act like UGA basketball is some prestigious program that has to keep up its high class image. UGA basketball HAS NO IMAGE. When you're a shite arse program you have to take risks, but then again there's virtually no risk with him. What are you scared he may make our basketball program good so you have one less thing to bitch about? Hiring Pearl here would be the next best thing to happen to UGA athletics since we signed Herschel.

Or do you want to hire another Fox that does mediocre at best and gets fired in the next 5 years just to be back in the same situation with Stegeman 5 years older?

Heck no.

Stegeman still has the lingering stench of Jim Harrick on it. No way do I want Pearl anywhere near our campus, let alone as a head coach.
