2015 might be a little rough for UF but they'll be a national title contender in 2016 and every season after if they hire this guy.

So you're saying he's another Butch Jones? The hillbillies have him losing only two games next year, both to Bama.

Butch inherited a no talent dumpster fire. McElwain (assuming he's the guy) will inherit a loaded defense and an offense that just needs some help at QB. It just so happens that McElwain's roots are in coaching QBs.

Not arguing with you, but couldn't the same be said about Pruitt?

Wait, Florida will travel west of the Mississippi during the season for a non-conference game? Damn they must want McElwain bad

they should hire Muschamp as head coach. He'd be motivated as hell to win one of those.

... That was kinda my point. They haven't played a regular season OOC game outside of Fla. since they played at Syracuse in 1992...

10-2 at Colorado State is the same as playing in the SEC though right?!

Wonder what the final #'s were for the buyout?

Lets say it's $5 million and you add it to Muschamps payoff and it comes to a cool $11 million when it's all said it done.

Hiring and firing coaches in the SEC can be a pretty expensive proposition.

No matter how good of a coach he may be, he better do something quick. With their current recruiting class Vandy will be whipping them soon. I hope he can't turn it around quickly enough for recruits and the downward spiral continues.

I get the feeling this will either turn out to be a homerun for UF or continuation of their descent. There will be no middle ground.

I honestly think McElwain is a good hire

Yeah, this isn't a headline making hire like say Chip Kelly, but I'm not sure Florida could have done much better. Colorado State was in the dumpster when McElwain and he's done a fantastic job of turning that program around.
