Luxury Inn in Watkinsville

This is my first post on the board, so I would like to introduce myself. I'm a lifelong dawg fan and alumni. I haven't been in Athens for some time and am in the process of planning a trip for my wife and I to catch a game this season between the hedges. We live in the metro St. Louis area, so we are in need of lodging. I am on the fence between staying at a luxurious 4 star hotel in ATL or staying at the luxury inn in Watkinsville. It looks like a shite hole, but it's $89 a night and only 8 miles from campus. I read the hotels.com reviews and they're all over the place. If anyone has experience with this place, your input would be appreciated.

For starters, you could at least tell us what hotel you're looking at in watkinsville.

I would find somewhere nicer to stay that is closer and spend a little more.

I can get a four star for $100/ night in atl, or I can get the luxory inn for $89. I'm not looking to spend much more than $100/night. Everything in Athens is $260/ night and up. Fyi- I'm looking for USCe weekend.

It appears someone's eyes are still healing from the fresh batch of protein they have received. just playing. It's in the thread title.

Consider Commerce. It's about 30 minutes North of downtown Athens and they have plenty of cheaper hotels.

Bulldog Inn on MLK by the loop. Other than blood on the sheets, it was a quaint little place for the AU a few years ago
Oh yea. Keep a 1911 on the bed stand like I did JIC

Best Western in Braselton is around $100 night and a decent hotel. Cousin got married at Chateau and we all stayed there because Chateau was booked.

Coming from ATL, Commerce would be retarded. I can't believe the national park service actually employed you at one time.

Stay in Madison or Braselton. Youre not going to get sny closer to downtown than watkinsville for less than 250 a night that weekend

Straight up 85 isn't that bad. But you're right I didn't think about commuting from the airport.
And don't get testy with me about my career choices. I will cut you.
