Auburn gave up 200+ yards 6 times last season.
Grantham gave up 200+ yards rushing 6 times in 2012.
Grantham's 2012 defense gave up about 5 points fewer per game than 2013 Auburn, though.

It's so bad that we were 12-2 and had our first play-in for a national championship since 1982.

I don't know why everyone harps on 2012.
2013 is more recent and inexcusable (Grantham's recruiting and lack of depth)

His PPG is deceptive (still pretty shitty for 7 NFL players)
because of the AU and Vandy shutouts and I'm pretty sure he
kept the 1st team defense through most of the 4th qtr against
AU...showing what a total POS he is.

Auburn played LSU and Bama. We matched Bama's ppg allowed (0)
Vandy played Florida and South Carolina. We held them to fewer points than those two.

I agree... we should have been subbing.
But Grantham was a dick.

Is that supposed to be sufficient?

What? So lack of depth is more inexcusable than not being able to produce with NFL talent studded all over the field?

Oh,I don't know maybe it had something to do with having SEVEN NFL players on the defense (all drafted the same year)

Please you can't compare AU to us in 2012...we didn't have their offense in '12...our offense was good but no where near as good as good at controlling the pace and tempo of a game plus they simply could outpace and outscore SEC competition.

Also, does the AU defense have SEVEN NFL players that'll get drafted?Just curious

lol

weak sauce.

19ppg is better than 24 ppg.
If you dig deeper into the conference schedules...
UGA was 19ppg against conference play in 2012.
Auburn was 29ppg in 2013 in conference play and 26ppg in conference play in 2010.

2012 was not the abortion that most make it out to seem.
Stay focused on 2013 if you have to cry like a woman.

ding ding ding. We have a winner.

Quit your bitching about the defense.
The best running teams win the conference.

2013 Auburn 48 rushing TDs
2012 Bama 37 rushing TDs
2011 LSU 35 rushing TDs
2010 Auburn 41 rushing TDs
2009 Bama 31 rushing TDs
2008 Florida 42 rushing TDs
2007 LSU 35 rushing TDs

Our best during that run was 2012 (32) and 2007 ( 32).

If you want to win the conference, then you have to be able to convert redzone touchdowns on the ground. You have to be able to convert 3rd and short on the ground.

It's so complicated, even Grantham doesn't understand it!

Lol. Wait, We are really comparing Auburn's defenses to UGA's? So what you're saying is we should be content with a shitty defense as long as we are amazing in rushing. Instead of a combination just as all of those teams other than the Auburn teams.

You keep saying this, but wanting UGA to do better and making fun of Todd Grantham is not acting like a girl.

All I know is that Grantham is no longer our problem and that's pretty cool. By the end of his tenure at UL I'm sure their fans will fell like we did.

Someone take this over to a Louisville board and remind them what a mistake this was.

I wish like Hell I could recall which board it was where they started basically saying that their players aren't stupid like ours; thus, the playbook wouldn't be an issue.

You mean the year we lost to UCF in our bowl game and went 6-7 on the season? Yeah, that was a righteous D.

I believe my exact words were is WASN'T excellent (it wasn't) but it was better than the year before (it was) even with a brand new system in place (true).

So what part did you disagree with?

You're right, it wasn't.

Marginally. In 2009, we allowed 25.92 PPG vs 22.07 PPG in 2010. So hey, you're right. Sorry, I took your comment to sorta mean you didn't understand the disdain most of us have for Grantham. For me, it's got a lot to do with the fact that players in 2013 were still looking around, scratching their heads on every down just like they were in 2010. Literally ZERO change in this each and every year. From a scoring standpoint, we looked okay on paper. That was about it. Factor in all of the NFL talent on those Ds, and there was more than enough reason to can him.

There's an easy explanation for this. It's called denial. Like all fan bases they simply can't or don't want to admit that their team made a shitty hire.

My question was more along the lines of "what happened" seemingly so suddenly. Like I said, 10 was pretty good taking all things into account, 11 was alright, 12 was very good, and 13 stunk. I was really just wondering what happened recently. It also seemed like the fanbase did generally like the guy up until last year.
