With where they're going in Season 3, it's not going to be possible to talk about BetterCallSaul w/out talking about BreakingBad. (It's also not going to be as enjoyable to watch if you haven't seen BB). I could explain the obvious reasons why, but not without spoilers, I guess.

I'll give spoiler warnings if I post anymore about the show. Nobody here seems to care to talk about it anyway though, so maybe we'll just move on.

not all of us have seen breaking bad, so all of this is new to us.

Reasons why this strategy is stupid, imo

1) SOme of what you have seen in Saul has already spoiled for you some of the best most badass face-melters of Breaking Bad that nobody saw coming. And that made it great. And you 'll never get to enjoy that.
2) Also BetterCallSaul is eventually going to reveal some more things from the black & white cinna-bun flash-forwards they tease at each season's opening. I don't see how they couldn't. So, Breaking Bad will literally be ruined for you.
3) There'll probably be at least three more seasons of Saul. So, you are talking about waiting 4 years to watch BB. Which is dumb on just basic levels.
4) For starters, in another 4 years, with the way technology etc advances, Breaking Bad will start to look old and dated kind of like when you watch replays of Georgia games from eight years ago, and the graphics and camera etc already looks dated and retro.
5) And most importantly, if you haven't seen Breaking Bad, you are missing 95% of what makes the Saul show great. Every single thing you have watched has some meaning. Some more obvious than others, and you haven't been able to appreciate a single bit of it. Dumb.
6) Get your shite together.

CheeseGrits, You got any good stories about the primal fear involved with encountering snakes unexpectedly? I had a pretty severe run-in today. Pretty sure I will wake up with white hair tomorrow.

Litigator, I don't want to hijack Dallas's lawn-off thread. So, what are your thoughts on "Please Call Saul" so far? Is the lawyer lingo etc on the up and up?

I would say the legal parts of it I've seen so far are realistic, but from what I've seen so far there's a lot more to the show than the law. Not having watched any of the programs predating season three and not having watched many of the Breaking Bad episodes, I'm still a bit lost. So I'll at least get caught up on season three and I think the fourth episode airs Monday night. Maybe I'll have a better feel for it all then.

Fair enough Counselor. Braves up 9-3 top of 8th. It's 37 degrees up there.

Can you believe that shite? Meanwhile it's 90 degrees and the snakes are out down here like a motherfricker. What kind do you have to deal with in Arkansas?

We're under a flash flood watch for another day I think but it has mostly been threatening with not much happening at this moment other than just a little rain. We did have a few abnormally cool days this past week for this time of year.

Right now in the evening hours the temperature is nice at 76F. If we are going to get any significant weather it appears it will be after midnight.

As to poisonous snakes copperheads would be most prevalent in my area. We also have cottonmouths and rattlesnakes. I'm told we have a few coral snakes as well but I've never seen one.

I've killed copperheads near my house. They smell bad.

You really need to watch the first 2 seasons. Right now is a real weird time to jump in.

That's kind of what I figured. It's usually hard starting in the middle of something.

Remember when we tried to predict what would be the gimmick after Georgia Gold?

Unanimous face plants.

It's something about chicken from space and Rob Lowe is Colonel JFK. This whole thing is bullshite.

That's pretty far out (pun intended). LINK

When I saw Zinger chicken sandwich I thought of a chocolate Twinkie type deal sandwiched between chicken and bread. But I guess it is a spicy chicken sandwich that was successful overseas. The commercial is beyond corny.

Also some parts of the state are starting to experience some weather now.

I am so old primal fear is like yesterday to me

Seriously tho, I grew up on a farm and never had a fear of snakes. Well, not unless you meant the local 2 legged ones from the bank.

You men from the bank?

Better call Saul is great. Jimmy reminds me of a buddy of mine. The dude would always get himself into shite but came out smelling like a rose. Mike intrigues the hell out of me... I'm curious to see how he handles the cartel... (Knowing what you've seen from Breaking Bad)...

I'm pretty sure growing up on a farm can't erase millions of years of genetic evolution. Or maybe all your ancestors are from the north somehow and evolved in frozen snow climates where there aren't any snakes and so there was no need to develop this natural survival instinct.

My ancestors must have all lived in snakeville because I actually have built in automatic high-alert snake radar vision. When I'm in the woods or somewhere snakey, without even thinking about it, my peripheral vision will scan for snakes. Sometimes the radar will pick up a stick or something shaped like a snake, and an automatic brain order is given that immidiately orders every muscle in my body to freeze still and survey the situation. It's crazy dude. We're definitely all part of some kind of hi-tech weird science experiment or something.
