I also have no doubt in my mind that he woulda been the 3rd best RB on our campus the day he signed.

Should have just taken the redshirt off Turman...

I don't think our players are any different/worse than anyone else's in the SEC but, Athens is a party town and we don't watch them as hard as others do.

I'm not sure what you mean with this? It appears we watch them plenty hard with all of the suspensions and arrests every season. The only difference is we actually enforce our disciplinary rules.

Correct, we are tough in applying disciplinary punishment but apparently not so good at identifying and correcting problem behavior before it leads to an incident.

Funny story: Stopped by a pawn shop today to look for some cool guns and overheard a dumbass trying to talk GA football. According to him, we didn't recruit Alvin Kamara so Nick Saban snatched him up. Also, Brice Ramsey is our starting QB next year.

No, he was an employee and was carrying a gun on his hip. I made one round and got my 6 year old son out of dodge.

At work the day after the bowl game, a guy that I've never heard talk about football before started going off about how Richt has to go because we just don't recruit tough guys like we used to under Dooley, and he wouldn't blame Gurley if he entered the NFL draft this year.

Silly old men that don't use the internet to educate themselves... read a news article once a month, more concerned about why their daughter has a cold sore on her lip at T'giving with her new boyfriend whom mother and sisters think "might be the one".

Yup those are the ones. Many of them frequent sports bars and spout off a stat or 2 that they saw on ESPN hoping that the guy next to them doesn't know anything.

I watched the Kentucky game at Locos, and was spouting off, and JHC missed a tackle and I thought it was Mauger, and the guy next to me corrected me, I felt like such a dumbass. So I know what it's like to be the moron at the sports bar. But in my case it was just a brainfart.

Wow,

I just came back from the Alabama board where they were vilifying Kamara and saw where you had come into that fracas, basically asking some real (fact finding) questions ones which even their best were troubled in providing a dignified response. The Alabama blowhards went silent.

I am a little ashamed of my comments in here on the matter as well taking so much at face value in fact I think I will go back and edit my junk apologetically.

Kudos Deeprig that was some good work.

Honestly,

I remember reading as early as September that Kamara was a problem child at Bama and that he was looking to transfer. If he negatively recruited against Bama while still an active member of the team, he's s POS and the bashing is merited.

How exactly do we "identify" problem behavior?Do we give profile test to every kid we recruit? The same kid that's being recruited by Alabama,AU,UFAG and LSU?,

I'm sure you already know many of the signs. Here's a link to signs of marijuana use: LINK

I don't know if we do but we probably should. If a kid can't follow a linear story-line/sequence and answer simple questions based on the story then he's either incapacitated at the time of the test or mentally handicapped to the extent that he probably wouldn't be able work efficiently within a team/system on either offense or defense.

In many cases yes and while we typically have top 10 recruiting classes, there's a strong correlation between top 5 classes and NC teams. In other words championship teams are getting the best of the best and these players perform at the highest level because they are both talented and focused which probably means they aren't engaging in detrimental behavior.

You do realize that the rating services have been known to go back and revise their ratings on guys after they are already in college.... so it would make sense that the NC teams all have Top 5 ratings. Throw in the Bama Bump... when Bama offers a kid that was 3 stars, suddenly he's a high 4, etc.

It happens. Richard Samuel was a 5* RB coming out of HS...everyone was jazzing their jeans in anticipation when he signed.

I just have an eye for RB...ask anyone from the old rant...I am always right about RB. I cant do it with any other position but I just know instantly with RB whether they have IT.

That being said...Kamara needs to split out wide or deal with riding the pine at the D-1 level if he just has to be a RB.

Does Chubb and Michel have it? What about AJ Turman who takes off the redshirt this year?

"Identify problem behavior"?? How are we supposed to weed out wrong way scooter drivers or determine if a LB can carry his scooter home?

We don't have a problem with identifying players, nor do we have a discipline issue due to respect, to lack thereof. We all fish from the same pond.

We have a problem with UGA and ACC police. Along with UGA admin.

JHC is about to get processed out of UGA. Guess grandpa was right in his concern that JHC would get in trouble at UGA, but not FSU.

The Crow lasted a yr here. His homey Gabe Wright goes to AU, doing just fine. Did Gabe straighten up or did he simply find friendlier confines?

LSU must be great at identifying problem behavior because no one ever gets suspended. Except that their QB nearly beat a man to death. And Honeybadger failed 17 drug tests, which is 14 more then he'd get here.
