I wonder if foomanchoo would feel the same way if that kid was Sony Michel. A grown arse man following a kid at night with a gun start to get his arse whip and shoot the kid is not self-defense. Kid breaking into your house with a gun, and you shoot and kill the kid is self defense.

Zimmerman had no way of knowing if Martin was going to bash his skull in until he died. He did what he had to do to survive that night. It was a "kill or be killed" scenario. Would you have been happier if Zimmerman did nothing and just let Martin kill him (or at least beat him until he had brain damage)?

Like I said, what if he was Sony Michel, or Todd Gurley walking home from football practice. Martin had no way of knowing that Zimmerman wasn't trying to kill him. I grew up in Atlanta. I remember the missing and murdered kids from the early 80's. Zimmerman chase the kid down, and when the kid decided to fight back, Zimmerman shot and killed an innocent kid.

Did you watch the whole trial? Did you see the evidence in the case? Do you know what the narrative actually was?

I'm sorry, but with Zimmerman's minor injuries, and intermediate MMA training, I refuse to believe this was self defense. No way if I learned any bit of MMA would a 5'11 high school kid be able to keep me from slipping from his "so called" grasp. What bothers me isn't the verdict, but some of you alls insensitivity to a kid being killed. No matter the case, we should pray for Zimmerman, and pray for Trayvon's family. I can only imagine what his parents are going through. We all at some point as young men have been in stupid situations rather our own fault or somebody else's, where our health or well being has been put at risk. No one knows how they would of reacted in Zimmerman or Martin's shoes. Give it a break and at least show some civility in this situation. Emotions are typical, and sometimes necessary. No matter the verdict, two lives are ruined forever. It's hard as a black man not to be outraged. The system fails black men everyday, at the same token we fail ourselves. Highest incarceration rate, aids, homicide death toll...pray for our nation, these families, and wake up man. DOKA, you really need to grow up dude.

No, you need to realize that if Trayvon was white and wearing a leather jacket with a mohawk, you know, looking all scary-like, and the exact same events unfolded with a neighborhood watchman, and the only eye witness said the white punk was on top of zimmerman and beating the shite out of him, then zimmerman would still be acquitted. Race has nothing to do with it, as much as you want it to.

Do you remember what the lead detective stated during the trial when he told Zimmerman there was a strong possibilty that the incident was videotaped?
Zimmerman stated "Thank God,I was hoping somdbody might have a videotape"
WHY would he say this WITHOUT an attorney present if he completely fabricated his story?

You're a coward behind that computer. Watermelon joke? Seriously, I'm typing from a cellphone. Race has nothing to do with it? The verdict would be VERY different if Trayvon was a white kid. Scary? You know how many hoodies are worn while it's cool and raining? I wore a hoodie in high school all the time. 3.8 cumulative GPA student, student-athlete, God fearer. You are telling me that a hooded sweater in the rain is weird and scary looking. Doesn't matter if it was a white kid in a leather jacket and w/ a mohawk. Either one is profiled unjustly. Zimmerman was not POST certified, and had no arresting authority. There was no need to follow him on foot if he was a neighborhood watchman. I've worked as a police officer and in apartment complexes as a courtesy officer and they strongly instruct civilians neighborhood courtesy officers NOT to pursue any suspicious person or thing due to liability. They stress the importance of requesting the expertise and assistance of REAL officers.
