Says the guy who continues to reference a play from 1980

If you're going to present yourself as an expert in the greatest plays in UGA football history, I don't recommend denying knowledge of a top play from just 12 years ago.

I've given my age several times in other threads.

I'm 67.

That auburn ending was one of the 3 or 4 best, most significant plays in UGA football history.

I didn't say "significant" play in UGA football history.

I first said the 104 yard run by TG would have been the "greatest" moment in UGA football history since the Run Lindsay Run moment if it hadn't been called back on a penalty then I said it would have been "one of the greatest moments if not the greatest moment" in UGA football history since the Run Lindsay Run moment if it hadn't been called back on a penalty.

There is a difference.

It won our first division title and catapulted us to the first SEC title in 20 years, over a team we had lost to 3 straight times. And you're comparing that to a kickoff return (yes, I know, if it counted) that would have tied a game at 7-7 with 12 minutes left in the first quarter?

It would have tied the game at 7-7 and taken the momentum away from Auburn after they scored a TD on their first possession in a game everyone thought at that time was going to be a close and tough game. It also was the first time TG touched the football after his 4 game suspension.

Sorry that you don't agree but IMHO all that adds up to it being one of the greatest moments if not the greatest moment in UGA football history since the Run Lindsay Run moment if it had not been called back.

I went to UGA from 1964-68 and I as well as every Dawg fan remember the Run Linday Run game and agree that it is the greatest moment in UGA football history since it kept our perfect record going and as a result we ended up winning the national championship that year.

I never said I was an expert on the greatest plays in UGA football history.

I just gave my opinion of what I thought the 104 yard kickoff return TD by Gurley would have been if it wasn't called back on a penalty.

2002 is too far back yet you stretch all the way back to 1980?

I'm just not following your logic. But the correct answer is most definitely the Michael Johnson catch.

I've already explained why I remember the Run Lindsay Run moment but I don't remember the 2002 game.

I don't remember every important game in UGA history but everyone who was a Dawg fan in 1980 will always remember the Run Lindsay Run game.

It's not my job to google the information because Rules is too lazy to post the specific information.

After all, since Rules stated a specific play then Rules must already know the specific details of the play and the year it happened.

What's not even worth it?

All of you who are fricking with me over this must be some of the Doomsday Dawgs who I called losers because you thought UGA couldn't beat Missouri or Tennessee without Gurley.

To go along with the Michael Johnson catch in '02, I'd also say Pollack's int against USCe that same year.

And of course, the Hobnail Boot play from the previous year.

Gotta love the greatest hits.

I don't have to prove anyone wrong.

It's still my opinion even if you think I'm wrong.

Wait... So a sea serpent spit on the Auburn fans and accosted their wimmins? Seems plausible.

Okay.

Greene to Johnson at Auburn in 02 was a much greater moment in UGA history than Gurley's KO return.

As was Staffords OT TD to beat Bama in 07

I mean, the list goes pretty lengthy as plays that were bigger moments than that return.
