If UGA wins outntheyre in...period. Mason needs to hang out with the dos equis man for a weekend and get some effin mojo. Its simple, if mason can get 5 or so passes over 20 IN THE AIR the game changes completely and the safeties cant cheat up run support all day. Gurley and the rest of the stable are the hammer but mason is the final nail in the coffen if he makes a team respect his arm.

We are favored to beat Aubie, based on the home field advantage - line is 2.5 or 3

IF we beat AU, my guess is we will be the highest ranked 2 loss team

We damn sure are capable of beating anybody we face, that includes Auburn and Bama or MS State

Would rather beat an undefeated MS State

In that scenario, either SEC gets shut out of the playoff OR a 2 loss UGA is in, I think we have a shot because the committee MIGHT cut us a little slack for losing Gurley on some really stupid bullshite

We are probably looking at an undefeated FSU, a 1 loss Oregon & a 1 loss Baylor or TCU

We are also looking at a PROBABLE 1 loss Big X champ

FSU is in, no questions asked

Same for Oregon or ANY 1 loss PAC 12 champ

We have a SMALL shot at jumping a 1 loss Big 12 champ IF it is Baylor, since their OOC sched is so weak

NO WAY we jump TCU - their OOC win over Minnesota will help them with the committee

I really see the SEC missing the dance if we win out

I think we need Miss State to lose. A 1 loss Miss State may still go over a 2 loss champion Georgia. If they run the table in the West they have a better resume.

Hate to even entertain he thought because I don't think we will win out but if we did, I think we'd be in the 4 team playoff. We'd pass their eye test by beating Auburn and the SEC West champion and I also believe they'd cut us slack on our Florida loss knowing that Gurley was suspended. The SEC will not be shut out of the playoff.

It shouldn't be...but if anyone could figure out a way for the SEC Champion to get shut out of the playoff we would.

To make sure I am thinking about that scenario correctly - if MSU has 1 loss, that means Bama has beaten them, and then Bama loses to us in the SECCG. MSU would have 1 loss but would not play in the championship. Correct?

If that is the case, I could easily see us staying home while MSU goes. After our losses, I can't say I would argue with that outcome. As mentioned by others, only thing that might convince me otherwise is if we win out, win SECCG, and do it all by multiple TDs in each game.

Georgia winning the SEC is the worst thing that could happen for the committee. An absolute shite storm would occur

Could you imagine the shitstorm that would ensue if UGA won out, beat MSU and then a 1 loss MSU went to playoff over us immediately following that game...

...ahead of their own conference champ and the team that just beat them on the field????

People would be going apeshit.

This thread is funny. We gave up what...450+ yards rushing to Florida? So now we're going to play a far better team - and one that's pissed off coming off an unexpected loss.

Since Gurley will be playing, we are a better team than the team was a week earlier and one that is pissed off about last year's unexpected loss to Auburn.

We can win this game.

Go Dawgs!!!

I actually don't know what we need.

Say Bama wins this weekend and then Miss State wins the remaining games...that's a top 5 team with a good resume sitting at home while we would play a 1 loss Bama. They could make it.

Also if Miss State wins out they would have one loss(to us) and even though we could beat them in the SECCG they could still go.

I guess in a perfect world the winner of Bama/Miss St loses to Auburn/Ole Miss the last week. But then the SECCG wouldn't be as big of a resume building win beating a number 1 team.

Ehhh...I don't know if I'm liking the little chance I thought we had after thinking it through.

All I know is I want to win this week and see Missouri lose so we have a couple weeks of sitting back and watching the west unfold and bring up speculation.

not really - they played Vandy & KY from the east

Their OOC Sched is a joke

Our games against Clemson, GA Tech (who has already got 8 wins), AU & Arky easily trumps their resume

I think our best bet is winning out and beating an undefeated Moo State team. That would put every other SEC team with two or more losses besides Moo State.

This is how it would probably look if this happened.
1. Florida State
2. Oregon/Arizona State
3. TCU/Baylor

The #4 spot would be up for grabs and it all comes down to Moo State, the Big 10 winner, and Georgia.

I think Mississippi State is eliminated since they just lost the SECCG. No way they would go to the playoffs just after losing their conference championship. That would mean they would jump 2 conference championship teams and the ESECPN rant for the rest of the country would be ridiculous.

The best scenario outside of the SEC would be Nebraska to lose vs. Wisconsin and then Wisconsin win the Big 10.

This would leave the decision to a two-loss UGA that won the SEC against the #1 team in the nation and a two loss Wisconsin that just beat an overrated Ohio State team in the Big 10 Championship.

I think the decision would be clear since our strength of schedule and quality wins are better than Wisconsin's.

LSU lost to UK and Arky in 2007 and got to hoist the Crystal. Anything is possible. Although in my heart I really think a 2 loss UGA SEC Championship team stays home and the SEC is locked out of the playoffs.

First thing first, just beat Auburn. It does make for an interesting scenario though.

Our winning out dont mean shite unless Missourri loses at least once. They have a pretty tough schedule but they are about as unpredictable as we are....

The main thing is BEAT AUBURN.....everything hinges on that.....

Can we worry about Auburn first? Two weeks ago, this board was e-rioting, now we’re throwing scenarios for UGA to make the playoffs. Chances are slim to get one of those 4 spots. All I care about at the moment is beating Auburn. This will be a great thread in 5 days assuming we win.
