I assume that going up against Mizzou's HUNH last week will help the D this week

We looked lost in the 1st half & Mizzou slowed it down in the 2nd but it's gotta help some I'd imagine, even tho OM is much better with it. Kinda like getting GSU the week before the nerds...

Not optimistic so looking for any silver lining...

I'm hoping Lock's arm strength is much better than Kelly's.

If not, Briscoe's gonna get violated again.

I sure hope seeing that helps our D, but we didn't stop Miz very well all night when they were slinging the ball around. The 2nd half was only good because they slowed down and tried running the ball to run out the clock. The final play of the game looked like the passes that they hit us with all night and it would have gone for big yards and even set them up to win if not for the forced fumble.

I really do hope they are able to tighten up coverage.

Hope you're healing well.

I think that's a valid point, like seeing the option as you mentioned. I think what will help our defense the most this week will be our offense- specifically time of possession. We need first downs.
To get first downs and TOP we must be able to run the football. Rotate #27, #1, and Herrien. We must run the ball to win Saturday.

It's the way to neutralize their biggest weapon- Mr. Kelly

He is a liability but Kirby and Mel made unbelievable adjustments in the 2nd half, limiting them to only 7 points and it was off a turnover. Here are missouri's second half drives

1 play, 6 yards- TD (off a UGa turnover)
3 plays, 6 yards, punt
3 plays, -6 yards, INT
3 plays, 7 yards, punt
3 plays, 11 yards, INT
15 plays, 60 yards, INT
6 plays, 16 yards, punt
1 play, 18 yards, fumble

Now, ole miss's offense will be better than missouri's for sure so it won't be easy. But it gives me hope that we utterly shut them down the 2nd half even with briscoe on the field. We aren't holding them to 10 points or anythign but if we did it last week I dont' see why we can't do modereately well again this week. Especially since OM supposedly has no run game. I'm also hopeful that this week we will show a lot more blitzes than we have before hand.

What was the run/pass ratio in the first half vs these second half drives? I think Mizz screwed themselves by going to the ground game. Not sure we changed a whole lot in the second half.

Mizzou was running a bunch of RPOs. They ran it a lot in the second half after Georgia started dropping more guys into coverage because that's the read.

Mostly this. I don't see any reason why we would be less likely to drop guys into coverage in this game given Ole Miss' general lack of running game. They've got their own OL problems so it's time for Trent and Co to eat. I don't think we win either, but we definitely have a chance. Need to get off to fast start to give our offense and defense ability to play loose while in control.

Hopefully we can be more disciplined than OM (haha, right?) and see if they can beat themselves with penalties and TOs due to sloppy play. We need to play tight, though.

What plays did he get violated on? I saw one play in man and it was a great throw. Rest of the time he was in zone when balls were thrown his way.

Can you go through the game and point out the plays where he got repeatedly violated?

And the last play of the game where he gave up the big play.

I don't think Ole Miss's defense is better than Missouri's.

I think their defense is terrible, especially their pass defense. They've suffered a lot of injuries to their secondary.

They aren't the land sharks. They are the land bream.
