That still doesn't explain the mismatch numbers wise and running 2 tight ends only seems to allow them to put even more guys in the gaps.

Honest question, what is our grand plan?
Ongoing improvement of our academic standing and perform well enough in football to keep our boosters and fans hopeful and happy. I doubt you will ever here the following words from our administration: UGA is committed to winning a national championship in football.

The OL will be the major ? imo. May have to start a freshman or two.
Sounds right, (About OL being the biggest ??) although I am not sure about starting freshmen. I can see Kindley, Gaillard, Wynn, Sims, Baker and Cleveland all vying for playing time, with Cleveland being a RS Freshman, and the others being sophomores or higher. Maybe if a couple of freshmen come in and make an impact, they could start, but I doubt they beat out the other guys above. I realize Cleveland is raw, so you could be right.

I'm thinking specifically at tackle. All those guys except Baker are better suited inside.
Wynn might have to play LT unless we can find a freshman or JUCO to do it.

True. I wasn't necessarily considering position as much as experience. Until we get some true Tackles in here it will be patchwork. but even the tackles we have brought in seem to be more suited for guard or center.

I disagree with the idea that we shouldn't be at least able to be competitive against elite teams. Sure, we may lose to them. But we are not talent deficient enough that losing to any team 45-14 is acceptable or almost losing to Nichols state is acceptable.
I disagree that the way we lost to Ole Miss is on talent. I'd put it on poor preparation. We played sluggishly. We've heard Kirby state he was displeased with practices for awhile now. Something is not working

Their passing game is much much more talented than our pass D is. Thats at the very least.

I think you are right to a degree. I wouldn't put Ole Miss on Smart, so much, though. It's a cultural change that has to be made, and I think he is working on it. I'm not sure the practices were challenging enough in the past? Is that diplomatic enough?
Pruitt struggled with that to a degree last year, but it will have to become ingrained into all the players. Hopefully we will see some improvements as the year goes along, and the players begin understanding what it takes to win.
