Honest question, what is our grand plan?

Everyone on here says our team is too talent depleted to be competitive against good teams. I don't exactly agree but I do agree we need to upgrade talent.
We bring in Kirby's guys in 2017 and we may get one more year of Chubb in 2017. But we will be young across the board. Is 2018 the target year? I don't know.

FWIW I think it's been rumored that Michel and Chub both plan to be gone after this year.

Don't ask questions bro, just trust the process.
Kirby is legend.
Kirby is legend.

In the year 2020, Kirbs will have a roster filled with the top players in the State of Ga... We will be so talented that he will just need to send 11 ... Any 11 out there and they will win every game. It's all about talent folks. Trust in the process.

I hope they haven't made up there minds already. I'd love nothing better for them to ball out and be high draft picks but if they're not ready, I'd hate for them to leave to early

What about it do you disagree with specifically?

Peter Buck, you have to be the biggest, phony dumbass on the entire SECR. Are you a girl?

We'll be much more experienced next year. Chubb and Michel will likely both be gone, but you can win with young RBs more so than any other position.
We'll return everything in the defensive front 7 and only lose Smith and Mauger in the secondary.
The OL will be the major ? imo. May have to start a freshman or two.

Of that I have no doubt.
Question - have they changed the OL blocking scheme from that of what Richt and company ran?

I'm the wrong person to ask about that, but I assume they're at least transitioning to something different since they've talked publicly about how they want to get way bigger there.

I'd say 2018 season is the benchmark if I had to take a stab at it....Eason a Junior...should be a loaded backfield with experience....and if recruiting stays the course...then we could be loaded for that season.
So 2018 is the benchmark for me.
I too, like others in this thread, expect us to compete every year though...so far this year its hasn't started out great. Hopefully that changes. I refuse to throw Kirby under the bus after 4 games.

Seems like I read they were getting away from a more of a zone blocking scheme. What you can see easily is if people are getting hats on people and see who is winning at the point of attack. We seem to be getting hats on people. I do not know if they are the right people. I do know there seems to be a LB or two in the gap before our RB and they seem to be unblocked a lot. We are not blowing people 5 yard off the LOS... That is nice, but certainly not necessary to run the football. I loved the combo blocks they were doing at UNC. Seems like they were executing them well. Not sure what happened since. Someone saw something on film it appears....

We ran a zone blocking scheme under Richt last year which fits our smaller but faster offensive line better. Kirby wants to switch to a power blocking scheme where you need big, strong linemen to beat their guys one on one at the LOS.
It'll be a couple of years before we have what we need up front on offense.

The short answer is yes. Here's the analysis from GTP that looks at a DawgNation article about the changes to blocking scheme.
