I would like to say so, but we may not find out until game time of Clemson. Remember, last year Richt and McGarity decided to stop announcing suspensions altogether.

I respect the guys for at least telling the truth, however, it's wasted since they shouldn't have put themselves or their team in that position.
Ty did as much damage as he could to the program on his way out, I wonder if he will get passed on by some JUCO's even.
So far I'm right about my predictions in LordOfTheBoard's thread, did anyone bookmark it?

If CMR lets him walk on this one I will have a new found respect for him. With that being said, I expect CMR to go full retard and give him 2 games.

If I recall correctly JHC was in the car with Isaiah Crowell when Crowell was arrested for the weapons charge that ultimately got him booted from the team. And the car, according to police, smelled heavily of marijuana....
Those charges were dropped BTW. This shouldn't even be an issue. No way in the world he would get 2 games...one game maybe.

so I've gotta ask - what the frick is so compelling about weed that these kids can't resist?
It's somewhat of a cultural thing. Black folks view marijuana differently then other people(like yourself). To them it's the same as drinking a beer.
JHC is a dumbass for two reasons...
1. Smoking a blunt in a dorm room. He needs to learn from his white counterparts to use a bowl or a gravity. Or just make it a point to not smoke on campus.
2. Admitting it. Why would you possibly incriminate yourself?

I'm white, and feel the same way too, but I was just speaking in general terms.

So do black people know you're their official spokesman?

Athens has some of the best weed around, so why CMR do u have the strictest drug penalty for weed, its not like its coke, meth or a hard drug. Everyone should smoke while at uga, don't suspend ppl for this stupid shite u hypocrite. God made weed, so why penalize ppl for using gods greatest herb?

First, CMR did not make the rule. Second, what is with using "ppl" and "u" - are you 12 or something?

Tis almost true, in a way, I know white people that smoke religiously too, but they smoke weed amongst other things, most black people I know smoke JUST weed, that's it...I worked with kids addicted to marijuana, and I will tell you, Richt's approach is fuhcked up, he's an idiot, if these kids smoke weed in college on schollies like they don't care, they've been doing it awhile, and at the point, most substance abuse clinicians would say those kids are addicted. Most addicts won't admit...like most drugs, weed has chemical properties that breaks neutralization of dopamine receptors, leaving the body urging to get high, and after so many blunts, the body doesn't get high anymore, but the sensory neurons fire back telling the brain to smoke more weed to get the desired affect, and usually, once someone goes beyond that point is when people become interested in The Infamous White Lady or other popular drugs...my 2 cents....meh

So I guess, in theory, Mark Richt is punishing kids who may really be suffering from the disease of addiction...someone get me this guys' phone number so I can inform him how un-Christlike it is not to get these kids the help they need, punishing an addict won't help, they need Jesus, then counseling & therapy, and a long talk with Quincy Carter...c'mon Richt, you're too good for this, so I thought

So it's Richt's fault and he should shoulder the blame for grown men choosing to smoke weed...b/c weed is addictive....
I think Bob Sagat should talk to these guys instead.

How can you not see CMR for what he really is?
There are many ways to help the kids who falter that do not involve the publicity that always seems to surround the yearly "violation of team rules" saga.
CMR eats this shite up so he can be seen as college football's white knight. I'm not saying he doesn't want to help the kids, but he is going to make damn sure that his "stringent policies" are always mentioned and that is what is truly fricked up. It almost seems as if he puts his reputation for being a disciplinarian above the welfare of his own players and I have a fricking problem with that.

not necessarily shoulder the blame, but most "grown men" use as adolescents, as early as 11 years old, I'n not saying he should be accused of anything, but I thought Richt was the coach that gave the kids the good ole "come to Jesus talk" in the office, if that's the case, and he REALLY wants to help these kids, then HELP. Have them run some steps, do push ups, 4am morning intervals, etc. Publicly announcing a kids suspension just makes our program look like shite, and looks less attractive to recruits that may not even smoke. You want a REAL consequnce like I had in College and HS football, let me see you do gassers for 4 hours and see how much weed you smoke after that...But if all kids see is our kids being suspended every other week, it sets a bad precedent, and kids come here as recruits, smoke, and it becomes as easy as sitting out a game...that creates apathy and a lack respect and shows weakness and the absence of tenacity by the head coach. You punish the program, the fans, the University...I guess to each is own...but I definitely think these potheads need more than just getting suspended though, they need help learning to replace something with something. That's usually how you deal with bad habits, replace X with Y every time you want to do X and you will get Z results...
