I don't think this counts as strike 2 for him though because he was never actually charged or implicated in the Crow incident. If it is, these would be the gheyest 2 strikes in the history of strikes

I wonder if they tested him then & if he's pissin' in a cup this morning?

Or, treat him like every other student caught smoking pot and make him pay a small fine or do some community service.

Key phrase here. No weed was found. Just an excuse used to search the vehicle.

i agree wholeheartedly because this is horse shite. i mean if richt wants to be daddy or w/e and teach him life lessons then fine, punish him but not the whole damn team. if we start suspending players because they ride in cars with people who make poor choices and almost get arrested then we will literally never have a 85 man roster ever again. i already dunno if we will ever have one again.

Exactly. Unless he failed a drug test, there is no physical evidence of JHC violating the drug policy.

Guys, come back off the ledge a little. There was no arrest, only that the players appeared to have consumed a substance. JHC then told the truth about what happened when he could have lied and gotten out of it clean. At least he has a conscience, and that should get him some brownie points with CMR. I would say we are only looking at a half a game or some sort of internal discipline at worst. Regardless of past indiscretions.

That's what I'm saying. In normal people world, this isn't a big deal. You take the slap on the wrist, do the assigned dance, and move on. Instead, we're treated to an AJC write-up and a whole bunch of conjecture about our starting Strong Safety being an immoral thug POS when he's just a college kid who was so freaked by the police presence in his dorm that he copped to smoking a blunt despite cops telling him "we've got nothing, keep your mouth shut"

ETA: JStan knows what's up

The scale in Ty Smith's possession is a bigger issue, since that indicates that he was dealing.

Maybe he got it to just make sure he wasn't getting ripped off...or he was using it to make sure that each and every blunt he smoked weighed no more than 1.5 grams each, to make the weed go further...

FWIW I picked both Ty Smith and JHC to run into trouble this offseason, can I pick em or what

The report stated that they found a bag in the bathroom with what appeared to be residue of marijuana in it. Will they test the residue to make sure, or do they even do that? Sounds like no charges were placed, so I guess the police just threw the bag back into the trashcan and walked away...

It appears that Smith was already planning to transfer out to a JUCO from his stolen schoolbook adventure, so perhaps he felt that he had a free ticket to ride while still at UGA. I bet now he really DOES have that ticket.....all the way out of Athens...

I was referring to the incident with Crowell, but if the UGAPD sees fit not to arrest someone on weed charges then they're as legally clean as can be.

Actually, it's probably because of this incident which happened two weeks ago (May 15th).

This is just the AJC being bored and assigning interns to scan the weeks-old UGAPD incident reports for anything they can possibly report on

if he is a fitness and diet guru like me, he probably had it to weigh his macros (macro-nutrients) and make sure he wasn't off track on his calories, carbs, and proteins...it's a science, trust me

Nothing reported so far should warrant any type of suspension. If he tests positive, that's a different story.

They're on the edge because of Richt. Odds are that discipline is coming regardless of what is proven or not. Richt can't help himself.

Agree to an extent. I think he will have to do some internal punishment for the mere fact that he admitted to "smoking a blunt"
