Too bad he was too stupid to figure out that if he had any patients and modesty he would make so much money with along side a heisman trophy. I hope each day he looks at the mirror from his celler and regrets what he has become. The son of hard working parents that has become so self indulged with himself. He is a monster.

I wouldn't go that far but obviously short term thinking got the best of him which would not have happened if he actually gave a shite about our university. Gurley has violated the terms of his scholarship. As such I would withdraw said scholarship as a message to all potential violators. As I have said many times, it does little good for UGA to recruit top athletes if they are not on the field.

Did you really believe he really give a fat rats arse to start with,or any other player for that matter. Hell they all want to get to the pros anyway they can.

College football is dead.

By recruiting top athletes, you bring these risks into play, but also get to win games.

By not recruiting top athletes, you just lose. Good news is you don't have NCAA problems because your players aren't worth paying.

Who cares, start Chubb

Problem is now we are one injury away from being in the same situation at RB that we were last season. Maybe the injury gods will finally smile on us.

For it to be dead you are saying every player out there is playing only for money which isn't true. Some players do some don't. It's that simple.

It's not dead yet but it's dying. Once a legal precedent is set and players must be paid directly for their services then at that point we will have pro sports in college with players basically going to the highest bidder. I'm sure there will what amounts to a salary cap but the under the table money will become even more blatant. I conclude that in a capitalist society (which I strongly support) it could not have ended up any other way.....

Quite true. Like most decisions there are trade-offs and unknowns.

1. Status quo. You keep recruiting the best athletes you can attract regardless of background and perceived attitudes and roll the dice on how much they contribute before they are caught in rule violations.

2. Like other universities you do a better job of covering up the violations realizing that the legal world is changing relative to college football. In other words you rationalize your integrity.

3. You do a better job of filtering athletes recognizing that you will be forgoing some of the elites because they will likely be rule violators. And yes, this means that the top end potential for future teams will likely be less but your integrity remains in tact. Hopefully this would attract student athletes who actually care about our university and their education over their professional football potential. This option is probably consistent with the trend at UGA towards increasing our academic status and in handling incidents by the book.

They always do. They will also trash talk, spit, and anything else they can do to get him to respond and get penalized or ejected. He's just a freshman, he needs to be coached up on this.

Yes he does. I have a feeling there will be worse attempted than Spikes' eye gouging..

I am strangely calm after this morning's announcement. Yeah, it blows, but at least we can see how far away the end of the tunnel is now.

I have no problem putting all my hopes on the line with Chubb in the next two games.

Also anyone saying Gurley should sit out the rest of the season is an idiot. No way that happens.
