King made his top 10 lists from the Goff/Donnan years and the Richt years.

He had to combine Goff and Donnan to come up with a top 10.

I do disagree with his number 3 ranking on the Goff/Donnan years of the 1997 season Outback Bowl. Wisconsin was a pretty bad team that year. I wouldn't rank that win in the top 20.

In retrospect, shutting down Ron Dayne was an incredible job by the defense that day. Dayne had arguably the best career of any college RB of all time.

My favorites from Donnan era:

1. 1997 UF
2. 1996 AU
3. 1997 GT
4. 1998 UVA
5. 1998 LSU

Richt:

1. 2001 Tenn
2. 2012 UF
3. 2006 AU
4. 2009 GT
5. 2007 UF

ETA: Those were the ones off the top of my head, and I'm a huge fan of games that spoil a rival's season. I could edit this list every 5 minutes or so and 3-5 in both eras would be completely different.

I was really surprised the 2013 Lsu game was just an honorable mention. Sanford was unreal and it was a hell of a game to witness.

I saw most of the home games from the Goff years. The only one I care to remember was the first game after he was dumped.

2013 LSU was the most perfect day of football I've ever been a part of in Athens. The weather was immaculate, game day was actually fun, the campus was electric, Sanford was in rare form, and the dawgs won a huge game against a major opponent in the last minutes on a defensive stand. Just prime college football at its absolute best

Yeah I would have 2013 LSU in place of either 2014 Clemson or 2002 tech.

Also, how does 2009 tech not make the list?

I am truly shocked he would put the 05 SECCG as richt's best win.

-It wasn't his first time going to the SECCG
-It wasn't his first time winning the SEC
-It wasn't his first time beating LSU

Just seems very random.

I actually think the best game UGA played under Richt was the 2005 SEC title game. LSU had a damn good team that year and we got waxed

ETA: We legit should have been 11-0 going into that game WG. That was a great LSU team

There was no better win in the richt years. Not even close imo.

Wouldn't that have been the UGA loss to Southern Mississippi in Donnan's first game?

I wasn't taking anything away from LSU, or the game itself. I was just saying that with 15 years worth of games, and a lot of "firsts" or "first time in a long time"s, it seems like some others woudl take the top spot for "best UGA win under richt".

I still can't believe how awful we looked in the 1st quarter against West Virginia. Even more head-scratching considering we dominated the rest of the game.

The 4th down breakdown against Auburn was bad, but I think that Sugar Bowl was when many people started to question Willie Martinez.

In retrospect, White and Slaton did that to a lot of teams and we were completely unprepared for it. However, those three fumbles absolutely killed us in that game. The biggest play in that game was one that was completely predictable. We had WVU 3rd and 12 inside their own 5, down 31-28. Everyone in the building knew RichRod wasn't going to have Pat White throw the ball there, except for Richt and Willie Martinez. QB draw picks up 15 or so, they score and effectively put the game away.

Losing to West Virginia was embarrassing at the time, but that backfield was one of the hardest to stop in college football in a long time.
