There is also a reason people like me are moving in droves to Georgia. Monday -Friday I get paid a shite ton to look at the sky line and then on the weekends I get either coastal or up in the mountains. The food scene is improving

Outside of new orleans (debatable), what better "food scene" is there in the South, besides Atlanta?

Take a minute to ponder this before responding.

It's a big draw. Atlanta doesn't pay people to come here. They just come. For better or worse. Atlanta is an asset to Georgia, in the context of this thread.

Stop being a gimp.

The barrier islands are great, but let's not act like Georgia is known for its beaches and overall coastline. People flock to SC and FL for soaking in the sun.

My God you are a gimp. A real life moron.

You were about to spend the rest of your life in St. Mary's because of the beauty, but then the job turned you down and now you hate the GA coast.

I agree that people are moving to Georgia in droves. That's one reason I left...

It has its Appeal and brings the food scene up. However the suburbs are closing in quickly. Kennesaw still has too many chains but it is what it is. The areas north of the atl are great. I have a reasonable commute in and on weekends I can go anywhere. I love la but I'm glad my kids will get to grow up in Georgia. It has a lot to offer on all fronts despite Atlanta being a liberal city.

Who suggested it was more popular than FL or SC? The fact that nobody goes to the golden isles is exactly what makes it more appealing than the other states you mentioned.

There's little opportunity for me in GA for what I am interested in career wise. My family is there. My friends are there. But I left bc my place is out west... the barrier islands are incredible. I never said they weren't. I understand TONS of people are attracted to the state; I get it. But there's little appeal to me.

I simply stated my opinion that Georgia was the best state in the south, but I'm painted as the bad guy. Montana is an incredible state and I will take up for it just like y'all take up for where you live.

Can you give me an example of a conservative city?

I agree there are great places in Georgia. But it's no appealing to me more than Tennessee or North Carolina (although Asheville is pretty appealing). Athens is awesome. But limited opportunities outside of college. I'm in a field that requires lots of natural interpretation, and the west is littered with nature. It's my happy place. I'll visit GA here and there, but I'll never move back.

Understandable, I loved la for the food and the values. It was a great time growing up on the bayou. IMO through Georgia combines the best of the outdoors, the old south and business.

I hiked this afternoon, had Cuban for dinner and now I'm having cocktails in the square

Georgia has the largest land area of any state on this side of the Mississippi River.

Alot of people think Maine, Florida, Pennsalvania, other candidates.

The answer is Georgia. If you can't find wide expanses of nature in Georgia, you don't want to find them.

I think you have something else going on. And that's fine. Everybody has a secret. And I'm not talking about your sexuality, that's not a secret.

I think something else is going on.

Name one national park in Georgia. Just one.... I dare you. And you're right; I've been with my partner for 5 years. Call us college sweethearts if ya will. He has an incredible job in C Falls with a lumber company and I'm at GNP. I think our lives are pretty amazing right now
