Lake Stevens (Lake Stevens, Wash.) quarterback Jacob Eason has been named the 2015-2016 Gatorade National Football Player of the Year. He was surprised with the honor at his high school on Tuesday with the award being presented by Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner.

The Georgia commitment had an memorable senior season on the gridiron, completing 235 of 338 passes for 3,585 yards, 43 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also led his team to a 12-1 record and an appearance in the state championship game.

Also a U.S. Army All-American and Five-star prospect according to the industry generated 247Sports Composite, Eason made his final choice of Georgia over Florida on Tuesday shortly after he received this honor.

Dude hit a homerun on his last AB for his baseball team. Eason is a winner.

Any idea on what number he'll sport?

Wouldn't it be ironic if he were committed to Florida the whole time and then decided to switch today? Isn't that just a coincidence?

I was just going to say...

Eason told UGA to take a hike unless he got his number. Team kicked Bauta out and the rest is history.

Is that how this work?

I'm sure he worshiped a few "Marys" down in Gainesville two weekends ago. Left a little something in the offering plate, too.
