I was never a fan of the draft day deal that got us Julio. The guy has been hurt too much and, IMVHO has NEVER been worth what was given up to get him. We could cut him and 'spoon without getting anything in return and I wouldn't be bothered by it.

It's Calvin, AJ, Julio, and everyone else.

Really? Say they end up in Carolina or New Orleans, that wouldn't bother you?

I don't care where they end up...they wont be on the field more than 8 games a year anyway.

Both of those guys are in the prime of their careers at 25-26 years old. If you want to make a case for this two or three years down the line I am all for it, but to even consider that now is just ridiculous. Before last year, Julio had only ever missed 3 games out of 32 during his brief career. It's not like he is constantly missing half the season.

you cant say the same about spoon...and you really cant make a case that he has been even remotely worth what was given up to get him. Depth the past 2 seasons was damaged in a tangible way by that deal.

No but suggesting cutting him tells me you are the dumbest MFer on this board and that's saying something. While we're at should we just cut Matt as well?

Yeah, but by cutting him we would incur a cap penalty for next year which is pretty pointless because he becomes an unrestricted free agent after the season anyways so if he has another injury plagued season we just won't resign him.

You obviously don't know who Josh Gordon is. It's debatable between Julio and Thomas. If Julio can stay healthy for the next 5 years well yeah you pay him whatever and keep him but he has an injury history to say the least.

It's not. Julio has freakish athletic ability and makes insane plays. Thomas catches screen passes.

Julio is a better receiver than Josh Gordon. And yes, I know who Josh Gordon is.

He missed 3 games his rookie season and played all 16 games his second year. What about that is injury prone?

Due to not filing for retirement, we did not get the full money back from Tony G in the cap space. Cost around 1.75 million in cap hit.

I mean if you say so.

I beg to differ but that's your opinion.

I guess we all are going to forget the train wreck of 2013 Falcons football and that Jones injured the same foot he did in 2011.

That, and I think he wants to make a return.....just not to the Falcons. Well, that is unless we are looking like a superbowl winning team.

Since we released him, we no longer have the rights to him.

@TomPelissero

Jon Asamoah's deal with #Falcons is 5 years, $22.5M with $8M gtd. Total includes $500K in per-game roster bonuses each year.

Demaryius Thomas and Josh Gordon would disagree.

Yes he does...and crossing patterns....and go routes.....and he runs a damn fine post. The sportscenter highlights are always his 80 yard TD screens, but I watch every Broncos game, he's an awesome receiver.

After cutting Tony G, the Falcons had around 26 million in free cap space.
Yesterdays signings of Soliai, Jackson, and Asamoah all combine for 11.3 million against this years cap.

So hopefully, we will see another surprise in the next coming days.
