oh hell absolutely. No doubt about that.

It's like our threads earlier about replacing Mason. The ceiling was lower but the basement was too.

I assume you meant when mason was replacing murray? But that was a little different because of what we had already seen out of Mason:

-5th year senior with some reps here and there over the years
-Played a full half against an SEC team in 2013 and did well
-First start on the road against tech and led a huge comeback
-Had a fairly nice game in a downpour in the bowl game. Averaged 300 ypg in his 2 starts.

You could at least see that he was going to be steady. What have we seen from ramsey? Well...he has a big arm I guess. He is probably going to be a walking turnover for a while. And we don't know a damn thing abotu Park. It's scary.

Also keep in mind that our #1 overall NFL draft pick was absolute dog shite until november his first year starting, and was actually benched in his 3rd or 4th game.

Consider me full on negadawg regarding the QBs this year. I don't like it either, it feels weird. I don't know how you live like this DGD.

I meant when we had threads calling for benching Mason for Ramsey and how we agreed that, for now, it was better to keep Mason because while he had lower highs he had higher lows.

I agree with what you have said. As you said...

Alcohol helps. I just have always doubted the program. But we have a shiny new OC and whether or not he is a good hire won't be determined for a while so it's easier to live in lala land

What we field at QB in 2015 won't be nearly as good as what we did in 2014 for at least 2 months, if at all.

I actually think having Ramsey or Park will open up our running game. Teams knew Mason wasn't going to try and go over top on them so they just stacked the box. Put a gun slinger out there with Mitchell, JSW, or Godwin and you at least have to respect the fact that he might try and torch you a PA go route.

WG- Stafford was a true freshman behind a terrible O-line. Very different scenarios imo.

I think our defense is going to be pretty solid yet again, our OL, WR, and RB should all be either great or bordering on great.

This will not be true if our QB doesn't play well. If the QB does his job the offense will function extremely well. If not then it will function very poorly. Y'all bash on Mason because he didn't have a killer arm but the man rarely turned the ball over and got Georgia in the right play consistently, at least according to Richt. Mason finished with the same final year record as 3 year starter Matthew Stafford.

I am of the opinion that we lacked options on the perimeter all season. I think Chris Conley was a great leader and a good player but he's not an NFL player beyond 2 years, IMO. I met Bennett this summer and he was small. Super nice and a qualtiy WR for us but not an unbelievable talent at WR, IMO. Mitchell does things other people can't. I say all of this to say that I really don't think QB play was our biggest issue offensively for us, I think it was our lack of explosive options on the perimeter. I'd like to see Mitchell healthy, Sony, McKenzie (If he can stay out of trouble), JSW, and maybe a guy like Blake Tibbs can step up for us. It'd be really great if we can find a guy or two out of this incoming freshman class.

I don't know what's more agitating

This list, or the fact we have to wait till September to find out how close it is.

Ramsey, or whoever is the guy, can get some solid experience, then just play decent at home vs. South Carolina and maybe we can pull that one out.

The one thing I like about the USC match up, for our QB, is that the Cocks will breaking in a new QB (potentially a true freshman) in a hostile environment. That could be a big advantage for us.

And I am on the record in saying that fully expect Ramsey to be the starter.

He's definitely the favorite imo, but having a new OC gives Park a better shot.

I'd be stunned if Bauta won the job.

He didn't look terrific in the bowl game, but I loved the way he stayed focused and tuned in. He made a couple bad throws but the camera stayed on him and he was upbeat and alert and showed some leadership potential IMO.

He could be very good if he reins it in a little bit.

That's quite possible. He made a few bad throws this year, but made some good ones too. The announcers criticize his footwork in one game, and suddenly everyone assumes he's worthless. With Ramsey, Bauta and Park all fighting for the job, I think we'll be in good shape for 2015.

Not sure who's winning the job, but I could see starting Park and going full read option atleast until he can grasp the new offense. Easier for an inexperienced QB to handle that. Seemed easier for OSUs 3rd string QB.

The SEC has only missed the top 5 in a preseason AP Poll twice since 1989. Shifting of powers?

So ESPN has UGA as the top ranked SEC team - at #8.

Ouch.
