The wall will never be built. Trump was just playing the anti-immigration people to get votes.

Building it or not building it is up to Congress - they'll have to fund it. But you can bet that a lot of them are busy going over the voting in their district nowadays - if their district went big for Trump, they'll have to consider voting to fund it, or they might be gone in 2018.
I doubt we'll ever see funding for a full wall, but I wouldn't be surprised to see funding for fencing and/or expansion of existing barriers.
But then again, Congressfolk have never been known for an overabundance of smarts.
