With OK pretty much wiping the floor with AU last night, did AU actually deserve to be in that game?

An 8-4 SEC team vs a 10-2 Big 12 team who was red hot to end the season? I mean I get that they were long considered the2/3rdf best team in the SEC, but I can';t help but think LSU and maybe even FL would have given OK a better game.

I honestly didn't think it was a fair matchup. AU should have been playing Iowa and UF taken on OK.

No. Any SEC team outside of Bama this year is terribly mediocre. Honestly, there isn't a SEC team that deserves the Sugar. Should've gone to an at-large team.

Nope.

They lost too one of the worst Georgia teams in the past 15-20 years IMO.

But I'm glad it happened, I always love seeing the auburn posters that predict to beat other teams by 14+ points get slammed back to reality.

If not Auburn, who? LSU probably was the better team, but they have their ow problems. The SEC was just very, very weak.

I would have preferred LSU/Oklahoma. But yes....Iowa/Auburn would have been better.

I wouldn't use the word deserve but I do think LSU would have been a much better match with Oklahoma and Auburn would have had a much better chance against Louisville.

But the bottom line: the SEC was just down this year fielding mostly mediocre teams in the bowl games. We kind of lucked out getting matched up against a smaller TCU team.

Terrible matchup. Should have gone to a better team. But... since it went to the Barn, it was nice to watch the beat down.

Heck yeah Auburn should have been in the Sugar Bowl. They made my top 5 best for this bowl season. Coach James Franklin blowing the Rose Bowl, Urban Meyer getting his due from Clemson,(would have liked to have seen him go Woody Hayes on Clemson, but this is close enough.) Harbaugh standing tall in defeat, and Petrino looking like he stepped in a pile comprise the other four.

What better way to start the new year than a good ole Auburn fan base melt down?

SEC 5th or 6th against big 12 champion. Such a slap in the face of the SEC

Zero 2nd half first downs in a loss to a 8-5 UGA team with a first year HC and a freshman QB.

No.

Oklahoma State was the best team that didn't get to a big bowl, but they had just played OU and was beaten badly.

They played like warmed over dogshit against LSU, but Louisville would have been next in line and deserved the Sugar over Auburn.

Compared to who and which conference?Big 10 was widely considered the best P5
conference and got their arse handed to em in the bowls.Bottom line is that the big 6
went 5-1 in bowls and drubbed Iowa and Louisville and AU is also a much better team
with a health Sean White...doubt they win but put up a much better showing.

Wasn't a stellar year in the SEC but not that bad especially compared to the rest
of the P5 conferences

exactly. Big 10 wanted 2 teams in the playoffs but after a loss to FSU Michigan can STFU along with Ohio State and Penn State. Washington is the pride of the PAC 10 averaging over 40 points a game just put up 7 points. Big 12 aint shite TCU is their Auburn. And outside of Clemson ACC is terribly mediocre

It should have been Florida as much as I hate to say it. They won their division and were much better than Auburn.
