No real excuses for Pruitt. Got 9-10 returning starters all in the same defense and positions. Studs like Drew, Mayes, Floyd, Herrera, Jenkins, and Wilson in the front 7. Hell, I'm very high on Bailey, not so much Wilson like others but he is a productive backer.
Secondary was the main issue last year but Pruitt is suppose to be "the guy" with the DBs. TG had to take a hit playing 4 true fr. back there. They all are a year older and he gets individuals like Green, Terry, Wilkerson, Fenteng, and Parrish to work with.

I'm not expecting a top 5 defense this season, but I'd like to see us in the top 25 at a bare minimum with the talent, experience, and coaching.

A top 5 defense would be wonderful but thats not fair for our guys. You are right though with all the experience we should at least field a top 25 defensive team. If you watch the FSU games from last year we have guys with the same skill sets that can do what a lot of their guys were doing defensively. I am ready to see what he can do with the unit, glad he is here, but I am going to save my judgement on him after I see us play some real games.
