Looks like Clemson is a "probably" and I know UGA was real quick to suspend play game 1 with lightning strikes in Oklahoma concerning them.

Was LSU game canceled to too much rain or was that because of storm? How much rain is too much rain to play a game?

Charleston is looking at like 8 damn inches.

Not really up to them, more of an NCAA rule.

This is a hypothetical I don't know the answer to. What would happen if the game was cancelled due to lightning? Would they play it Sunday? Push the SECCG back a week and play it the weekend after rivalry week?

Odds of this happening are <1% but I am curious how they'd handle a conference game being cancelled

It was lightening, not just water falling from the sky. Zeus' cum striking the land all around the stadium

The LSU game was canceled because of a 4+ hour lightning delay. The rain that's coming this weekend is just rain - not storms, so I don't think lightning delays/cancellation are a concern.

But for the rain/flooding...I'm not aware of any precedent. Some concerns could be player safety (field conditions), fan safety (flooded streets), or downed trees/power outages because the ground is so damn wet.

I dunno. I haven't seen anybody talking about the possibility though.

There is not much of a chance of lightening as far as I've heard..just a lot of precipitation. Its gonna be mucky and wet and probably raining throughout but I don't think it will be postponed or delayed. That being said I wish they would move it to the dome! lol

None. It takes something like lightning, hail, tornado, etc... to call off a game. This one wouldn't be cancelled, it would be postponed to a later date if something catastrophic happened.

Football is played in six inches of snow and single digit temperatures. Rain alone isn't enough.

This is where we can shine from practicing out in the rain. We'll pull out the huge win in the rain and slop, and McGarity is going to take all the credit for sandbagging on an IPF.

if we were playing mcneese state like LSU was in the opener I think people would think long and hard about it. Bama? It's going to take a serious act of God for this thing to get canceled. Being that we're a 3:30 start we've got a lot of time throughout the day to push it back. It would probably take multiple very serious lightning strikes and some other heinous acts. A shite ton of rain alone isn't going to do it.

I don't think it is storms rolling in, just relentless rain so hopefully we won't have too much lightning

You would really rather see this game played in a constant torrential downpour rather than moved to Atlanta to play in a dome?

At some point, rain could be heavy enough that the field can't drain and any sort of passing game becomes hard to execute. The game could start to become an ugly mess determined by chance mistakes more than anything else...

Has there ever been a time where a game was moved to another venue the week of? I say move it to the Dome if it's looking iffy.
