Since my New Years Eve blowout days are behind me, it suits me just fine. Better than watching Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin.

I'm enjoying it. I have back-to-back-to-back quality football games today and tomorrow and Saturday. And if I opt to go out tonight, no skin off my back as I'm purely watching for the entertainment factor. I hope they do this every year

I can understand why some won't like it. I will be going out and partying myself but I kinda like being able to watch these games during the pregame. Agree though that the ratings will likely take a hit.

Agree. It's the dumbest shite imaginable.
If they can't play them New Year's day because of the Rose Bowl or whatever....why not move them to Saturday and play all the taxslayer bowls etc on New Years Eve instead.
That would make too much sense probably. Kind of like keeping the computer rankings, polls, etc to seed the playoff instead of creating this embarassing playoff czar committee.

Correct my if im wrong,cause it happened once before. But isn't it kind of rotating? Like some years it'll be on NYE and some on NYD?

That's right. When the semis are Rose/Sugar they will be played on 1/1. When they are Cotton/Orange or Fiesta/Peach it'll be 12/31.
Hopefully that gets changed once the tv ratings for this year's games are shown to be lower than last year.

The bowls should have all been finished up before Christmas day along with the first round of the playoffs, tomorrow should be the championship game and that's it.

We're going to make a deal with the Rose Bowl to create a Playoff Holiday.
It's going to be fabulous deal. A truly fantastic one. And people are going to love it. It's going to be terrific.
