Completely agree, but I think we had more players drafted off of the team we fielded that day then they did, especially on defense. I could be wrong though.

And you could be right. I honestly don't know.
But doesn't that just mean that our coaches did a better job? OR, it could mean that we had more draftable players. Hard to say.

Ahhhhhh, I see where the misunderstanding came in. I was talking about him not making much compare to say, a Bill gates, etc and you said he makes good for a coach.

My point, actually was that salary makes no difference. Anybody you bring in here will get similar money, probably. But if you want to make money an issue then...again...Saban should be winning titles every year. Most talent. Most money. Best facilities, etc.

I don't want to see Richt fired but his response to the caller was awful. Richt fell back on belittling the caller by saying "I don't know how many games you've coached".

Richt should not judge himself against some guy who has never coached he sould judge himself against the best of his peers.

Richt's tone and comments were like saying "woe is me. I have no control over events".

Sadly, that's typically the best defense CMR can often muster. If you have to go to the "In the arena" argument, you've already lost. It's the Godwin's Law of coaching. As I said in a previous post:

quote:

That, without question, falls on the coaching. We showed up with the intention to win. They were playing to survive. Huge difference in execution. The kids on the field are going to respond to kicks in the nuts like the fake FG TD. It's the coaches' responsibility to ensure that it doesn't blow them out of the water for the whole fricking game. This was their greatest failing on Saturday, IMO.

I too find it belittling and not very becoming of Coach Richt. Kind of haughty if you ask me.

Coach call in shows are a complete waste of time and should be done away with.

There is very little upside for the coaches. I am sorry but some ahole venting all over the coach is completely disrespectful. It bothers me in the least that CMR got passive aggressive on him. You think Les Miles or Saban take that kinda shite straight up?

Didn't a Saban coached team not get blown out by two team's in Utah and Oklahoma in which him and his coaches had a month to prepare for those teams?

What was the prize if they won? They couldn't reach the goal they wanted, so what was to gain by beating Utah or Ok?

Slightly valid point, but he lost to two really good teams. 2014 Florida & South Carolina are not really good teams. 2012 South Carolina was a really good team, but we lost 35-7, and that is what I consider a blowout. Losing by 2 touchdowns to a really good team is nothing to start asking for coaches to be fired.

2013 Georgia losing to Vanderbilt and Nebraska is not acceptable in my personal opinion. Even with the injuries, our team was better.

CMR should accept some responsibility.

Some? Every bit, he's the headcoach. He's a complete fricktard but in reality he's the biggest thief in the state of Georgia because he steals around $4,000,000 a year from the state flagship university. Most of the callers on these shows do know more than Captain Dipshit!

I'm not the biggest CMR fan in the world but it's hard for people to take you seriously when all you do is call him a fricktard and Captain Dipshit

And yea, he knows more about football than every caller on there. Have you listened to a lot of the callers....?

Richt needs to be held responsible. If he can't coach an elite SEC team and we all KNOW at this point that he cannot, then he needs to go. I wonder how many UGA fans really believe that Richt will take this team any higher. I bought in last year because of Murray and I accepted the excuse of injuries. I bought in this year because of Pruitt. Richt has brought his coaching down. When do the fans and admin stop reading the 1000 page book called "Excuses by Mark Richt". He's been writing it since 2001! It's time for a change, he will never get it done!

Part of Richt's problems I think are the fact he comes from Florida State in the ACC. You could take weeks off in that league. When he came into the SEC in his younger days he was eager to win, and the SEC wasn't quite up to what it is today in those years. That is why we didn't go to the title game even after winning the league twice. Now the league is highly competitive with top tier coaching everywhere you look. I don't sense the same competitiveness from CMR these days. The only time I felt his heart was in it was the second half of 2012. It must be tough on him to care less with twice the competition. My opinion.
