Braves trade Kimbrel and BJ to San Diego, presumably for people I've never heard of like they've done with every other trade. I don't like trading Kimbrel now, would have rather let someone who thinks he is the missing piece drastically overpay at the deadline.

I don't have a link. It's all over twitter and on the MSB

Really stings but it needed to be done. No need to keep paying him that money if we aren't gonna be any good. We also dumb BJ's contract.

It's official. Braves are officially tanking before the season even begins.

Frank wren destroyed the Braves organization. Those uggla and Bj signings directly led to us having to unload gattis heyward and Kimbrel

Well, at least I don't have to bother sitting in traffic on the connector to get down to the Ted this year. May watch opening day for the nostalgia and not a game after that. Mailing it in until the new stadium opens

I agree, I actually like the deal. First of all, it gets rid of "Melvin". Second of all, Kimbrel showed some concerning signs last year. He definitely wasn't as invincible as he had been the previous 2-3 years. Plus, I don't see his or any other arm being able to stand up to the pressure his fastball puts on it. I see Tommy Johns surgery in his future, especially with the frequency that Braves pitchers have been down that path.

Really bummed I won't see Kimbrel pitch this year, unless he's blowing our doors off in our games vs. Padres.

BUT

This was a great deal for us. A guy like Kimbrel is exciting but useless for a team as dreadful as us. Plus getting rid of BJ's contract. We pretty muched raked the Padres for this.

Agree. Having badass closer means dick when the rest of your team is Bad News Braves.

Hate the trade but we wouldn't have been leading very many games for Kimbrel to close anyways...

Now what's gonna be done with the $80 million in contracts we just freed up? Padded seats in the new stadium?

Toying around with a lineup that is cheap and doesn't matter. Maybe we'll get a new manager in time for the new stadium, too.
